Hi Everyone I'm Paige, I'm 18 and seeking a childcare job in the West Sussex area. I am local to Worthing, West Sussex but as I have a clean full
UK driving license and use of a car I am willing to travel within reason. I have recently finished my level three diploma in childcare and education and I am enthusiastic about gaining employment within this field. I am a hard working, reliable and honest person with a passion for what I do. I feel I am fun, outgoing and have a bubbly personality. I have the ability to communicate with all ages and remain professional and to a high standard at all times.
I have a recent clean CRB check and I am wiling to be Ofsted registered if required. My long term goal is to attend university where I will then study to be a primary school teacher but after acted as a mothers help position within my course I have decided that nannying/mothers help is the job id like to do.
My Experience
I have plenty of experience when it comes to working with children due to my course. I have been in two schools and two nurseries in West Sussex over two years. I used to attend my placement two days a week and would carry out basic day to day tasks and act as a member of staff.
As well as the educational establishments i have worked in, I have also taken up the position as a mothers help for a term ( G:2 and B: 3 months) I thoroughly enjoyed this and got on well with parents and children, who I still keep in touch with. Some of my roles and responsibilities as a mothers help were to play with both children, bath time, preparing meals, feeding, hoovering, washing, general cleaning etc.
During summer 2013 I was employed by a local leisure centre to take on the role as a Day Camp Supervisor. Within this role came a lot of responsibilities as I was in charge of both staff and children. A few of these roles and responsibilities were ; to ensure that all children were supervised at all times on the equipment provided. I would liaise with parents/guardians to have a clear understanding of the child's individual needs and any plans or routines which need to be put into place. I also had to plan and deliver the planned activities and make sure that the children were adequately supervised and that the staff knew what was expected of them. Another key part of my role as a supervisor is that I had to deal first hand with any problems which may arise with children's behaviour.
I have also had experience with Autism. My cousin aged 9 is autistic and I have looked after him a lot both after school and in holidays. I would like to gain more experience with working with children with disabilities and will consider this for a future career.
