My Summary

My Experience

I have a collective of Ten years experience working in the childcare sector in fact it has been my profession since leaving secondary education.I worked in Colchester Essex at 'Nanna's Day Nurseries' as a Nursery Assistant for a total of six years where I achieved a collective of childcare qualification some of which are listed below. My responsibility's at this time were to set up and run different activities which were age appropriate and enhanced the children's development. I also was responsible for monitoring child development this was achieved by completing personal profiles and records for the children which I would update and review regularly. In addition to this I was expected to keep a clean and safe environment for the children to play and learn in. During my time working at 'Nanna's it was rated outstanding by all Ofsted inspection's.I was trusted and respected by the parents of the children that attended the nursery and was asked on regular occasions to babysit for them on evenings and weekends.
I left the nursery due to my husband being offered a job in the Oxford area and was sad to leave. At this point I joined Dalton Pre-School Nursery. I joined this company and began as a Nursery Assistant but within a year I was identified by my management team and promoted to a room leader were I took on greater responsibility's than just the ones mentioned above, these included planning through the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and managing a team of up to five members of staff.
After being in this role for six months I applied for a senior member of staff position and was subsequently promoted to this role. Again I took on more responsibility's such as the security of the nursery opening and closing, planning rotors and staff working hours.In addition to that I also dealt with taking payments for child care fees. I also am expected to have more interaction with parents and I often am responsible for introductions to the nursery.
I currently am working again at Nanna's Day Nursery's as I have moved back into Colchester Area, again i have lots of the same responsibilities as before, I am the room leader of the 3-5 room and have four staff members under me that i have to coordinate and have help me to run the room.

NVQ Level 2 in Children's Care, Learning and Development

NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development

Apprenticeship in Children's Care Learning and Development

Paediatric (Advanced) First Aid

Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Catering

Specialist Safeguarding Training

DBR (also known as CRB)


In addition to the qualifications above I have completed an array of short courses related to child care for which I have certificates, a majority of these courses were run by Colchester County Council there is a total of seventeen.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £11.65 per hour
• Nannying from £9.00 per hour (gross)

Fees are negotiable depending on job role and responsibility's, however rate would be competitive.
