About Me
My name is Jemma, and I am a fully qualified teacher working in an outstanding school in Ashford (Surrey). I have a passion for reading and thorougly enjoy teaching English and Maths. I believe all children should love learning and I would love to take on some tutoring to support and encourage this, alongside, building a child's self esteem and confidence in their ability. Being in a classroom full-time, I have a wealth of knowledge of the curriculum and a number of strategies that allow me to work with children of all backgrounds. I am available week days from 4:30pm onwards and weekend times vary. Please message me and I will do my best to accommodate to your needs.
My Experience
I have worked in a primary school for 10 years, 6 years as a teaching assistant across various year groups (Reception, Year 3 and Year 4) and as a fully qualified teacher for 4 years in a year 3 class. Prior to working in a Primary school, I worked in a nursery for just over a year, which has given me experience and confidence with very young children. I have experience working with a range of special educational needs and also have experience with private tutoring already for children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4. My sessions will be resourced and planned by me, around the topics and themes of your choice.
My Qualifications
I have my Level 3 childcare qualification, Qualified Teaching Status and I am fully and up to date DBS checked.
My Availability
Flexible on week day afternoons (after 4:30pm) and various hours at the weekend.
