I am 31 years old, and have completed a 4 year Primary teaching Degree at the University of Brighton. I have been a primary school teacher and have taught children aged 5-8 years. I worked in a special needs school as a teacher for children with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. I enjoy being active and really enjoy to cook. I have waited to work with children since I can remember. I have worked for Disney cruise line as a youth activities counsellor which allows me to interact with children in a fun and exciting way as well as P&O and Royal Caribbean. My Experience
I have 14 years experience of working with children in a variety of age ranges. I have undertook a 2 year college course in a BTEC National Development Children's Care learning and Development at Level 3. This also covered 5 placements working with children aged 0-8 years. I then progressed onto a 4 year course at the University of Brighton to study Primary Education with a PE specialism. I finished my degree in May 2014. Within both of these courses I have had to undertake placements in a variety of settings focusing on the development of children and teaching them new skills.
Throughout the holidays on my course I have worked in a variety of summer camps both in the UK and Abroad. I have work for SuperCamps LTD as an Early Years Manager, some of the responsibilities included looking after children on the camp of the ages 4-7 years, planning and preparing activities for the children based around the EYFS, and finally observing the children to ensure they were developing at the correct stage of their development.
I have also worked for Mark Warner LTD as a Children's Holiday Rep, this was in Corsica and I was responsible for children aged 4months - 17 years. Some of the responsibilities included looking after the children throughout their holiday, providing activities to engage them, building relationships with both parents/carers and the children and finally maintaining high expectations.
Before becoming a primary school teacher I worked as a nanny for a family with a boy aged 6 and a girl aged 4. I worked both within term time and school holidays gaining a wealth of experience. Throughout this position I gained a fantastic relationship with the family and the children. I cared for the children from 7am - 7pm, within this I was responsible for getting the children ready for school, taking them to school, picking them up, making dinner, playing and bedtime routines.
My Qualifications
BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care Learning and Development (Level 3) - Distinction, Distinction, Distinction.
BA (Hons) in Primary Education 5-11 years with QTS
