June is an excellent childminder for our three year old son. From the first week he attended he has learnt so much and his abilities with speech, independence, writing, learning, everything has just improved leaps and bounds. He is always full of excited stories about what he gets up to at June's with the other children and is excited to go every morning. He would give her 5 stars if he could!
From a parent point of view, June is equally excellent. She provides frequent updates with photos about what they're doing or where they're going. They go on lots of outings to play groups, the lookout etc. Our son always comes home with something to show off, something crafty or where he's practised tracing letters etc. It is clear that she puts in a lot of time and effort to make sure the children are always learning something whilst having fun and takes times to plan birthday parties or for festivals like Chinese New year, Christmas etc. She takes an active interest in our sons health and wellbeing too. Helping us combat skin conditions, eating issues and the dreaded potty training! You can tell she wants all the children to succeed. We are confident, 100% happy with Kiddiewinks and would recommend her wholeheartedly.
June has looked after my youngest child since he was coming up to his first birthday, he is now nearing 10. June also looked after my older two boys from this point as well. Up until they were in their second year of secondary school. My older two had experienced a mix on nursery and au-pairs up until their little brother came along. So I have a great comparison and there is none ! June is always looking for exciting things for the children to do, to take them out and ensure they play outside wherever possible as well as the early years learning in play and phonics. I could not have been / be happier. June thoroughly deserves her Offstead outstanding certificate and if your reading this trying to decide, go and meet June and see how happy and comfortable the children are in her care.
June has been looking after my son after school for the past 4 years. She has always shown him great care and understanding, and he loves her dearly. She always tries to accommodate extra sessions for us if she has space, and throws birthday parties for the children, which is a lovely touch. I find she goes that extra mile. During term time, she will ensure the children read to her or her sister and will document this in their reading record, and will get them to practice their spellings, if appropriate, but will judge each child's individual needs. The children are kept occupied with arts and crafts, and plentiful outdoor activities. We are very happy with the care and compassion that June provides to our son.
My son has been with June for just over a year - he absolutely loves going to her house every day, and enjoys daily activities! His most favourite time is the play time in her huge garden. He is a very honest boy so I can really tell how much enjoyable time he has been spending at her house. June always pays attentions to details, so for example, she spotted that my son was ready for his toilet training (he was 23 month old at that time). Lots of craft activities as well as outside play and outings. Also he has been learning an excellent manner of speech - the whole family amazed with that! I am really happy with June and my son's progress.
Having looked at a number of nurseries when choosing our Son's childcare, we decided we wanted to go down the Childminder route. At the time he was 11 months old and we really wanted a home from home environment, with more focussed and personable care.
June ticks all these boxes and more. Her home, and particularly the huge garden, is the perfect place for children to grow and learn.
Our son has been with June for nearly a year now and we have found June to be instrumental to his development. He is becoming a very confident boy and genuinely enjoys his time with June and the other children.
Knowing our little boy is so happy with June makes it much easier to leave him - and ensures we never worry.
June comes highly recommended.
