About Me

Hello, my name is Danielle.
I’m a professional and Experienced Nanny, and childcare provider. I've cared for babies from birth to children up to the age of 10 years old.
Im also a qualified nursery nurse and used to work as a registered childminder, I currently work for two lovely families, but the youngest starts full time school soon and I need full time hours full days so I'm looking for a new Family to support.

I have always loved working with children and caring for them. I love setting up nice fun and learning activities for children to help support their development and to have fun.
I am very passionate about what I do.
I have a very caring, gental nature, with children
You will find me to be honest, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
This is something I think most families need in a Nanny, babysitter, or childcare provider, and I guarantee I can provide this along with excellent childcare, References and I have a full DBS check that can be viewed on paper or online

I have been with my husband for 21 years now, married for 11, and we have 2 sons born in March 2014 and January 2017. My husband works from home.
We live about 2 miles from Cowbridge in a small village of Llanblethian.

I have been working in a local school for the past 3 years as an LSA (learning support assistant) in Nursery class and reception class I have also worked as a M.D.S (mid day supervisor) in the school and and more recently a one to one support LSA support again, for a child who has additional needs.
I have worked in the school for an after-school club, called simply out of school, where I worked as an assistant play leader, with children aged from 3 to 10.

I have worked as a registered childminder for 2 years in Cardiff at our old address and in Cowbridge after we moved.
Then, before this, as a nursery nurse for 10 years in a private nursery setting, caring for children from aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
Childminding had allowed me to continue working in childcare it's what I love doing, and it has also allowed me to be able to look after my own family at home when my eldest was a baby.

I now work as a nanny, which has always been my ambition.

I also offer a babysitting service
I also do wedding childcare.

You will find me to be very caring and patient with children.
I will provide your child with the best possible standards of care and peace of mind that they are in safe hands.
I believe that every child is different and individual. Children have their own thoughts and feelings that need to be listened to and respected.
I love working with children it has always been a passion of mine, and I really enjoy it.
I love helping people and supporting a child to help them develop and learn new things.
I think its important that children have fresh air every day and room to play and express themselves through play and different activities and experiences.
I can provide written references and references from my current nanny jobs and school work
I can show all qualifications pending any interview or meeting.
I hold a full DBS enhanced disclosure, and this can be seen by parents on request at a meeting and also on the online data Barring service.

My Experience

I’ve been working in childcare for over 25 years. Firstly Babysitting in my teens onwards, then as a qualified nursery nurse for 10 years.
Then, I have been a childminder for the last 2 years. I spent 7 years working for the same nursery in central Cardiff, and I have worked for several others in Cardiff and Bridgend before this.
I also work in my local primary school and as a nanny.
I've qualified and passed a cpop5 childminder courses passed the Exam amd started and run my own business, as a registered childminder when my eldest child was a baby

I’ve done babysitting for friends and families from nursery.

I have been a nanny for a parent who needed help with her baby while she studied from home.

I have worked with children with difficulties such as Autism, and A.D.H.D on a one to one basis.
I have worked with a baby who has epilepsy and i became thier regularly babysitter untill they moved to Truro.

I have potty and toilet trained a number of children over the years as well as my own two children when they were young.

I have had to manage many different situations, as well as children with behavioural difficulties, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour.

I looked after babies with colic, babies, and young children struggling with teething, sleep difficulties, children stuggling with boundaries causing tantrums, and unwanted behaviour.
Baby led weaning and baby weaning.

I have experience working with twins in a school nursery setting and as a childminder.
I also have years of experience looking after twin girls at 14 months old, in a private nursery setting when I first had them in my own group i looked after them until they went to school aged 4 and also out of nursery and privately as a babysitter.
I also have twin experience caring for two baby boys as a childminder.

Most of my experience is with young children from birth up to 10 years. However I specialise in the early years birth to 6.
Ealry years development.
I also have the added experience of being a mum of two.

Working in a school has given me the added experience of working with the Foundation Phase in a school setting this has given me an in site to see the importance of the next stage from being at home or in a nursery to going to school and Learning in Foundation phase - Nursery age 3 -4
to reception age 4 -5
and year 1 aged 5- 6.
as well as Key stage 2 children aged 6- 7 and 7 to 8
During the second lockdown, I worked for a term in key stage 2 with children aged 6-7. and 7-8 and 9 to 10, supporting them during their working online in a classroom in the school.

This has given me an understanding of the next stages a child needs to learn about when they take their next journey to primary class upward in comprehensive school.

I have been working in my local school as an LSA teachers supporting the children in their learning about phonics and letter sounds, colours, and shapes. Number and letter formation and online learning.

Dani was our first (and so far only) childminder for our son - as soon as I met her I had a really good feeling as she's a very warm person, and it was lovely seeing her with her baby son. Her son is just a few months older than ours, which was another reason I chose her as I liked the idea of them growing up together.

We've been using her now for nearly 7 months and I can't recommend her highly enough - she took great care to make sure our son was settled in well, and over time she's always shown a lot of care and love for him, she has a very calm, gentle, caring nature which he responds to very well.

She's always provided him with lots of healthy meals and snacks, tries to make sure they get a walk outside every day and when they're indoors she does lots of activities with them e.g. bubble play, water play, jelly play.

The only reason we're stopping working with her is that she's moving out of the area, otherwise I would probably use her til our son was grown-up! She's made it very easy for me to go back to work, is always very flexible and supportive - I can't rate her highly enough!

Hi Heledd thank you for your review it means a lot to me.
It has been an absolute pleasure caring for William this last 7 months He has settled well, and is a joy to look after, I will be sad to move and not be looking after him any more but I will stay in touch.
I hope that Williams settles well with His new carer/ child minder and that they have as much joy as I did caring for William.

Danielle xx
