About Me
Hello i am a 38 year old married mummy of two. My daughter is 13 and my son is 10.
I am a loving caring person who enjoys socialising and meeting new people! my profession as childminder is well suited to me, i throughly enjoy setting up stimulating activities to meet a variety of ages for children! i ensure any child/children in my care are safe and well looked after! being a mummy myself i know how a parent feels! i love to cook and am willing to always try new recipes!
i always ensure that the way the parents want their child looked after is exactely what i will do to ensure continuity.
In my home i have open plan playarea so the children can have free play to use their own imaginations ... and then i have the use of my lounge, kitchen and garden space where we will have more planned/structured adult led activities. I also like to get the children out each day -this may be to the park, playgroups, library,whipsnade zoo, coffee on the common just to name a few... My aim as a childminder is to create a comfortable, safe environment for your little ones to relax, play, learn and increase their development at their own pace! Its a huge Benefit that i live opposite the school too- so its never too far for little legs to walk... especially if its raining!
I have two shihtzu dogs. Nova and Ralph, a tortoise called Hugo and two cats Darcy and Jon.
My Experience
Since leaving school i have worked in 2 nurseries and been a nanny to one great family!
From leaving school i worked at Fledglings in Redbourn and was a nursery assistant! here i helped with all the daily activities - painting, sticking, colouring, meal times, sleep times, nappy changing, potty training, garden time! However the nursery was brand new and took a while to get known and was therefore unfortunately made redundant along with the other nursery assistant!
After leaving Fledglings i started working in a nursery in St.Albans called Wainscot House day nursery! here i started my NVQ level 3 training and after a year i became Room leader. With this role i was in charge of one room! i had all the daily jobs still but also did monthly planning and had meetings with management to discuss different ideas with the running my room! i throuhly enjoyed this role! I stayed at Wainscot for 3 years However after completing my NVQ level 3 the possibility of becoming a nanny came up and i was entreagued to see what it would be like!
I worked for the family for 3 years and i was with them when i fell pregnant! I looked after 2 children a little boy aged 6 months and a 4 year old girl! here i prepared meals, arranged outings e.g.- farm, big space, playdates, park, swimmimg lessons. Indoor activities e.g. - Artwork, baking, puzzles, quiet time - stories. As the children got older the activies were always kept suitable for their age group!, i took and collected from school and took to afterschool activites! The little girl in my care had a condition callet 'Petit mal' form of epilepsy of which medication had to be given everyday! i throughly enjoyed my role as a nanny.
I then left the above full time position due to having my daughter. Childminding then became my next adventure as it suits me and my family and allows me to continue with my love of working with children!
My Qualifications
I have gcse grade c or above in:
maths, english, science, religious studies, history, french, textiles, business studies
I have A levels in textiles grade C and Business studies grade D
NVQ level 3 in childcare.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
mornings- £7 set rate - drop off from 7.30
Afternoons-£7 per hour collection from Redbourn school.
Full days -hourly rate of £7
I also take funding.
