As a former childminder I will care for your children with regards to the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)which is the Statutory framework that sets the standards that ALL Early Years providers must meet,including nurseries, which you can download for your own personal reading,which means I will support your child in the PRIME areas of Learning & Development which are Personal,Social & Emotional Development,Communication & Language and Physical Development leading on to SPECIFIC areas which are Literacy,Mathematics,Understanding The World and Expressive Arts & Design.

WHAT WE DO:
.We visit different toddler groups on a regular basis to find out where your child is most comfortable and if it is possible we continue to meet up with other children she develops a bond with,we visit many local activities and environments where your child can become part of the community and help in making friendships
We also visit the local library for story time and local shops,giving your child a sense of community and we spend a lot of time outdoors in all weathers (suitably dressed!) in parks,forests,the lido,etc and I set up obstacle courses and engage your child in various activities.

I sing songs and nursery rhymes with your child and we have messy play,sand & water and arts & crafts.

I change the setting on a regular basis where we play shops or hospitals etc and have different festivals throughout the year to reflect different cultures.
I clear the room and make a climbing /jumping area with a slide and cushions,tunnel,etc and play games for physical exercise.

I continuously take short childcare courses and read childcare magazines etc for new ideas

I teach your child about personal hygiene and self care and the importance of looking after their teeth, I I will teach her about blowing her nose and disposing of her tissues,hand washing and potty / toilet training when you feel she is ready.

I teach your child about the importance of healthy eating and learn their table manners.
I can provide home cooked meals and introduce your child to a vast array of fruit and vegetables,a lot of veg is hidden in the meals too!

I am friendly and easy going and open to discuss you and your childs needs at any time, we can draw up a timetable together of your childs day including naps and meal times,etc so you know where we are and what we are doing.

I take observations of your child and keep a tracker of her progress which you are welcome to see at any time and I will give you a daily diary of her day including what she has eaten,any naps,etc.(usually through a book or diary
