Nanny/Tutoring Experience

Nanny and work with children/young adults (UK)

Crowborough Tuition Centre (part-time teaching job) -2014-2015 (reference obtainable)
Tutoring Maths and English to pupils aged between 6yrs and 19 yrs old at a tuition centre.
Teaching a combination of Chemistry, English grammar, comprehension and Maths with a focus on the school syllabus and core syllabus resources.
Tutoring part-time through Personal Tutors 2013-2014 UK
Tutoring students within the age range of 6yrs old to 16 years old
Examples of methods used
Helping a 6 yr old student with new methods of tackling addition and subtraction with two digit numbers.
Using mind maps to enhance creative ideas which she can use to create sentences for short stories. This is giving her a chance to group together ideas that she has about things like holidays and days out like trips to the zoo, allowing her to express her current level of vocabulary whilst also building on ideas and words that she already has available. She is responding well to this creative process and is using longer sentences in her story writing.

I tutor GCSE Maths and chemistry and also AS and A2 level Chemistry to children in their own homes. (Ages 15-19yrs old). I follow the school syllabus either OCR, Edexcel , New Spec or Salters. I put a lot of emphasis on Past Paper preparation so that students feel confident and comfortable with the style of questions asked, the expected format of answers so they can maximise their marks and also showing working at all times which allows students to gain marks even if the final answer is possibly incorrect. These study skills are incredibly valuable for success.
