About Me
I am a qualified primary teacher, previously I have worked as a teaching partner for 6 years where I supported all children with their learning needs. Prior to working in schools, I worked as a private nanny for over 15 years, I have worked with all ages (0+) and children with various additional needs. I also have my own teenage daughter. I am very much an out doors person and find
learning opportunities in the day to day tasks with children, such as learning about animals, flowers, seasons when out on walks, science when baking etc. I also have a small dog, who I would love to have the flexibility to bring with me on outings (or at least include on a daily walk) with the children as she brings a lot of joy to everyone she meets.
My Experience
I began my working life as a nursery assistant. From here I gained my Early Years Care and Education level 3 certificate and worked up to become a nursery nurse and then private nanny. I worked with children from birth as a mother's help and sole charge nanny. When I had my own daughter, I moved into working as a teaching assistant. I worked as a level 3 qualified teaching assistant for 6 years before becoming a primary teacher. I qualified in June 2021 and have been working as a teacher since. Over the course of my career, I have worked with children with both physical and learning needs.
My Qualifications
Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning, with Honours. Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning. Early Years Care and Education, Level 3.
My Availability
I can offer tutoring services, ad hoc and prearranged nannying and babysitting. Please get in touch to discuss specific days.

"Katty84" has worked as nanny to my two children (currently aged 11 months and 4 years) since September 2011, and I have a very high estimate of her abilities and character.
She is quick to grasp key issues with each child, and has risen admirably to the challenge of caring for my second child, who has a range of medical difficulties. She has learnt a number of new skills, such as tube feeding, without being daunted by these tasks. The demands of caring for a baby with special needs, along with an older child, have demonstrated that she is highly organised, and is able to manage all the children so that appointments are punctually kept. Kathryn is absolutely honest and trust-worthy. She is open to discussion and responds positively to suggestions and requests. She is firm but fair with the children and handles my older child well when she is upset or difficult, setting firm boundaries but keeping the atmosphere and relationship warm and positive. My children are very fond of her and she has connected well with them. I would recommend her without hesitation.
