OFSTED graded good registered childminder. 28 years childcare experience in a range of professional settings. Including 15 years as a childminder.
I have a calm disposition and lots of patience but can be firm when necessary. I encourage positive behaviour through praise. I enjoy building up a bond with the children and I treat the children with the same care and attention that I do my own children. Mine are older teenagers now, one at university.
I have a non smoking household and have a cat who is used to being around young children but generally prefers to keep out of the way.
I have a good range of toys for indoor and outdoor play, a spacious living/playroom and large kitchen that the children play and enjoy activities in. I have a large garden with playhouse, trampoline, water play tables,slide and the children particularly enjoy activities such as bats and balls, bubbles and paddling pool play when the weather is good, all supervised of course.
The children are treated as one of the family and I feel that a good balance of planned activities and outings and free play where the children can feel at home and choose to play with the toys/activity they choose makes for a happy and contented child.
I have current children that I have had for many years and it is a pleasure to continue to care for and watch the children grow and thrive. It is usual for me to care for children of a variety of ages and the younger ones learn so much from the older ones.
We visit a local toddler group where we have lots of toys, messy play activities and planned craft activities each session .I meet up regularly with other child carers and mums which helps to develop many skills by playing with other children, the children make a lot of friends! we also visit many parks,go for walks or explore the woods.Visit the library, pet shop, garden centre, cafes and local shops and amenities.
Children of all ages enjoy doing arts and crafts activities,messy play,playdough and cooking at my home.
I aim to offer a caring family environment where each child is helped to thrive and reach their developmental goals through playing and the familiarity of being cared for in a home environment with the comfort of one carer unlike the sometimes unsettling impact staff turnover could have have in a nursery.
I have a strong network of other local childminders and in the unlikely event I was unable to work ( I’ve been off sick only about 5 days in the past 15 years) I can usually get cover for your children if you would want this.
I am ofsted registered and hold public liability insurance.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for 26 years.I have worked in a day nursery with babies 3month plus ,as a nanny for several families,with children with special needs and at a residential school for children with autism.As a childminder i have looked after children from over 30 local families and can provide lots of good references from both current parents and past families/ employers.
My Qualifications
I achieved a "good" grading in all areas in my latest ofsted inspection september 2019.
I recieved a pass in diploma of home based childcare
I hold a full up to date first aid qualification of which I have trained for 14 hours. I renew this as required every 3 years.
I have been trained in,introduction to the E.Y.F.S,,health and safety and equal opportunities. I renew my safeguarding training as required every 2 years so that I am fully aware of the risks to children's welfare and I know how to raise concerns.
In 2012 I studied at weekends for 1year to further my knowledge in being a professional childminder and successfully passed the diploma level 3 in childcare called, children and the workforce.

Next availability will be SEPTEMBER 2023 .
I can do drop offs and pick ups from Malvern way school and little green .
I am also a member of the Croxley green childminders group.

My child warmed to Caroline’s cheerful nature very quickly . She took my toddler out to lovely places and kept him very occupied with the other children. They all mixed together well and he made friendships which was lovely to see. Lots of outdoor play and exploring the local parks and woods as well as a huge variety of everyday experiences, local library, shops, cafes. Caroline sent photos every week so I could see my child at play, out or in her home. She had lots of toys and did crafts or baking . He always looked engaged and happy . Caroline was very reliable , kind and cared well for my child’s needs.

My children have been with Caroline for 8 years and I’ve never regretted them going there instead of a nursery or after school club. She thinks of all kinds of activities to keep the full age range occupied with lots of outdoor activities or creative tasks indoors and they enjoy it all. Caroline’s home is safe and welcoming with a great garden and the children are so comfortable there, with her own children being kind and lovely individuals. My children have additional needs and Caroline is so adept at supporting them. Knowing that your children are happy and well cared for makes such a difference and I’m thankful to Caroline for always ensuring this. And the regular baking that comes home is always a treat!

My son started with Caroline 3 weeks ago after leaving another childminder. He has been made very welcome by her family, Caroline's children are great with him and sit and play.
Caroline took him to his first toddler group which he loved. They are in and out all day which is the normal pattern of our house as well.
He is a very happy boy which makes us happy.
