About Me
Hi! My name is Lauren and I am a qualified and experienced nanny and babysitter.
I have over 18 years experience caring for children from newborn up to 16 years old. Before training as an integrative therapist, I worked as a full time nanny, first in Newcastle and then in London, both live-in and live-out roles. I have also stayed in the family home for overnight stays and long weekends while parents are away.
I'm currently working as a children and young people's therapist for a charity in primary and secondary school settings. I also work with adults and young people online in my private practice.
I am looking for babysitting work and occasional childcare hours to supplement my main job. I currently work Tuesday to Friday 8:30-4:30 so ideally I'm looking for occasional weekend day and/or evening babysitting work.
I take a lot of pride in providing a child-centred approach to my work and enjoy establishing a relationship with the whole family. I love to cook, bake, read and enjoy being outdoors. I have a genuine passion for working with children and providing a positive and nurturing environment.

My Experience
I have experience working with children from newborn to teens. I have cared for children with Epilepsy, Type 1 Diabetes, ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia. I have been responsible for administering regular medication.
I enjoy every age range and continue to learn from the children I look after. I have experience cooking for a variety of dietary needs and I am Coeliac myself so I am aware of the importance of issues such as cross contamination when it comes to cooking for children with allergies or dietary requirements. I am adaptable and happy to cater for the needs of you and your children. I have experience working both as a live-in and live-out nanny.
I have volunteered for a number of charities and organisations. I volunteered as a writing mentor for the Live Theatre in Newcastle for two years, assisting the facilitator and other volunteers to deliver creative writing sessions for local schools. I also completed volunteer training as a family support mentor for Children North East and during the first lockdown I organised donations for families living in poverty in the North East. In 2019 I spent two weeks volunteering for an NGO, Happy Caravan, working as an English teacher on a refugee camp in Malakasa, Greece.

1st Class BSc in Counselling. 2024. University of East London.
Level 3 Diploma in Counselling. Newcastle College 2019.
BTEC National Diploma in Early Years and Education. Newcastle College 2005.
My Availability
I am available for evening babysitting and as and when weekend work. I am looking for work in Herne Hill, Tulse Hill, West Norwood, and East Dulwich. I am flexible and will try to fit in with your childcare needs wherever possible.

- Babysitting from £18.00 per hour

We have worked with Lauren for several years, both as a nanny and babysitter. From the children's perspective she is patient, kind, very intuitive, imaginative and fun. From our perspective as parents she is incredibly reliable, honest and just lovely to have around. The kids absolutely love her and we continue to regularly use Lauren for babysitting. Happy to provide a verbal reference if needed.
