About Me
Hi! My name is Lauren and I am a qualified and experienced nanny and babysitter.
I have over 18 years experience caring for children from newborn up to 16 years old, before training as a therapist I worked as a nanny for many families, first in Newcastle and then in London. I have also stayed in the family home for overnight stays and long weekends when parents have gone for a weekend away.
I'm currently working as a children and young people's therapist for a charity in both primary and secondary school settings. I also work with adults and young people online in my private practice.
I am looking for babysitting work and occasional childcare hours to supplement my main job. I currently work Tuesday to Friday 8:30-4:30 so ideally I'm looking for occasional weekend babysitting work.
I take a lot of pride in providing a child-centred approach to my work and enjoy establishing a relationship with the whole family. I love to cook, bake, read and enjoy being outdoors. Both with children and in my spare time! I have a genuine passion for working with children and connecting with each child I work with.

My Experience
I have experience working with children from newborn to teens. I have cared for children with Epilepsy, Type 1 Diabetes, ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia. I have been responsible for administering regular medication.
I enjoy every age range and continue to learn from the children I look after. I have experience cooking for a variety of dietary needs and I am Coeliac myself so I am aware of the importance of issues such as cross contamination when it comes to cooking for children with allergies or dietary requirements. I am adaptable and happy to cater for the needs of you and your children. I have experience working both as a live-in and live-out nanny.
I have volunteered for a number of charities and organisations. I volunteered as a writing mentor for the Live Theatre in Newcastle for two years, assisting the facilitator and other volunteers to deliver creative writing sessions for local schools. I also completed volunteer training as a family support mentor for Children North East and during the first lockdown I organised donations for families living in poverty in the North East. In 2019 I spent two weeks volunteering for an NGO, Happy Caravan, working as an English teacher on a refugee camp in Malakasa, Greece.

1st Class BSc in Counselling. 2024. University of East London.
Level 3 Diploma in Counselling. Newcastle College 2019.
BTEC National Diploma in Early Years and Education. Newcastle College 2005.
My Availability
I am available for evening babysitting and as and when weekend work. I am looking for work in Herne Hill, Clapham, Denmark Hill and East Dulwich. I am flexible and will try to fit in with your childcare needs wherever possible.
