About Me
Hiya I'm Julie. I live in Douglas with my 2 grown up children. I was a registered childminder for 4 years and I love working with children. The reason I gave up was space my house was too small for all the things I needed. I really miss working with children. I could drop children off at school. At present I do not have a car. I decided to become a nanny to work with families to make life abit easier for working parents. I did first aid courses when I was a childminder which I need to refresh.
I also do babysitting at the weekends. I have looked after children from 0 - 14 year old. I have brought my children up by myself so know how hard it is to make sure you have the right childcare to put your mind at rest. I have learnt alot bringing up my 2 dealing with the ups and downs and would like to help other parents. It's all about trying to find someone you trust to look after your children so you can relax. I am reliable, trustworthy and ready to work with you to make sure your children get the best childcare.
I don't mind what age the children are I babysit for from newborn to teenagers with special needs. Feel free to give me a ring or email to discuss your requirements and see if I can be of any help and make parenting abit easier.
ACTIVITIES
I will do some crafts, cooking, playing board games or they might want to just chill after a hard day after some homework if they have any:) I will help them learn their spelling and times table or whatever they need help with in a fun way. I'm definitely no Einstein but I'll do my best to find fun ways to help them learn. I had to come up with a few when mine were younger that seemed to help. If it's nice we will go to the park.
My Experience
My experience is from bringing up my children, which I have loved and using what I think is right at the time and reading books. I have done the first aid course and Safeguarding Children and my St Johns Ambulance first aid certificate. Working as a childminder has gave me alot of experience with different children. I have been police checked and would be happy to show it to you. I also have experience with additional needs. My daughter is autistic and my son has ADHD.
My Qualifications
I do not have any relevant qualifications to do with childcare.
My Availability
I could be available at night at the weekends Friday and Saturday if you need help eg bedtime or all night to give mum a rest. I know how hectic family life is. Available for emergency and ad hoc care from 7.30am - 4pm. Even if it's to give a new mum or dad a break for a few hours to go shopping without little ones or to give a new mum help around the house with housework, the laundry or cooking a family meal I am happy to help out with anything you need.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
- Nannying from £12.00 per hour (gross)
My fee before school is £7 per hour as a nanny. £8 for drop offs and pick ups from school or taking the children to clubs etc. £10 per hour babysitting going up to £15 after midnight. My hourly rate for babysitting stays the same no matter how many children I look after. Overnight £120 8pm - 8am.
