My Experience
I have over 12 years of hands-on experience in the childcare industry, having worked in a variety of roles that have shaped my deep understanding of child development and effective caregiving. My career began as a Nursery Practitioner, where I was responsible for providing day-to-day care, supporting early learning, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children. This role helped me develop a strong foundation in creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and building positive relationships with both children and parents.
Building on this experience, I advanced to roles with greater responsibility, becoming a Nursery Manager at three different nurseries. As a manager, I was entrusted with overseeing operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading a team of practitioners. I also worked closely with parents to ensure the smooth integration of each child’s unique needs and development. My leadership skills grew as I was responsible for staff training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive, nurturing environment for both staff and children.
Additionally, I have spent time working as a Nanny, which has given me the opportunity to offer one-on-one care in a home setting. This experience allowed me to develop a highly individualized approach to childcare, adapting my care methods to fit the specific needs and routines of each family. My son joined Paint the Rainbow at 14 months old just as I was starting work again. I was so nervous to put my trust in someone else to care for my baby, as up until then I had been with him most of the time. Discovering that Shiree was a former Nursery manager definitely helped ease my nerves. When I went to meet Shiree at her home with my son, I felt immediately comfortable with her. She is smiley and relaxed, whilst being incredibly organised and her flat was welcoming and clean stocked with great toys. What really sold me though was when my son turned to Shiree and went to sit on her lap, something he would never do with someone other than me!
I could see he felt safe around her and felt so reassured. I do think you get a feeling when you find the right childcare provider, and I definitely did with Shiree. My son is still with Shiree and Chanel every week, and he absolutely loves being with them for the day. He gets excited to go, and when he comes home he lists off all his friends there and the fun things he does. He always comes back such a happy boy. His vocabulary, fine motor skills and joy for life has certainly expanded since being at Paint the rainbow, and I love that he gets to hang out with other children his age. The activities Shiree and Chanel do with the kids are so well thought through, perfectly appropriate for their age, educational and fun. They go outside all the time on different trips to farms, zoo's, museums and gardens and are always updating us with the fun days they have had. Overall, I honestly can't rave enough about this childminder. Shiree's expertise is very clear and my husband and I are beyond grateful that we found her.

Paint the rainbow is amazing! My children love it, always beaming smile at drop off and never want to leave! Shiree and Chanel are so lovely, full of cuddles and laughter. Shiree is so organised and attentive, planning daily fun activities, educational circle time and the most delicious home cooked meals. Overall the childcare is wonderful. The staff accommodate for each child’s needs and varying personalities whilst providing parents with regular updates. I feel very fortunate to have found Paint the Rainbow and would recommend to any parents!

I honestly can’t recommend Paint The Rainbow Childminding Services enough. The team are absolutely wonderful – so friendly, warm and genuinely caring. The environment they have created is perfect: welcoming, nurturing and clearly designed with the children’s happiness and wellbeing at the heart of everything they do.
The dinners are lovely – really well rounded, hearty and filling, and you can tell they’re proper home-cooked meals that leave the children content and well fed at the end of the day.
Both of my children are very happy there, which says everything. They are children who are very aware of their feelings and surroundings, so seeing how comfortable, settled and content they are is real proof of the safe, supportive and positive atmosphere at Paint The Rainbow. Knowing my children are happy and cared for so well gives me complete peace of mind, and I’m so grateful to have found such a wonderful place for them.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for Shiree Wheeler childcare.
I cannot recommend Shiree highly enough! As a parent, finding the right place for my child was crucial, and this childcare establishment exceeded all my expectations.
The facility is clean, warm and welcoming. The daily trips allow my child to explore and engage with nature.
Shiree’s experiences speaks for its self & I feel confident knowing that my child is exceeding in their development due to their extra care & attention whilst carrying out focus activities.

Shiree is amazing. The first time I met her, she was warm, friendly, and her home was clean and comfortable. She is flexiable and my baby girl loved her and her beautiful family. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a trustworthy, honest and understanding person. I look forward to needing her services again.

It is my pleasure to provide a reference for Shiree Wheeler. I have had the pleasure of knowing Shiree in both a professional and personal capacity.
Professionally, Shiree was hired as a full-time childminder in 2018-2019 for my then 5-month-old daughter. It was a hard decision to return to work when my daughter was so young, and I struggled to find childcare that felt right—until I met Shiree. Shiree asked all the right questions and wanted to know how I would like her to handle/respond to different scenarios, which was incredibly refreshing. Her knowledge of early years and child development also helped us feel confident in our decision. Thanks to Shiree, my daughter was able to learn, play, grow, and explore while forming a wonderful bond with her.
In fact, my child had such a great bond with Shiree that we even enrolled her in the nursery Shiree went on to manage after her time with us as a nanny. Although no longer employed by us, Shiree continues to play a huge role in my daughter’s life, and the bond they have built will last well beyond a lifetime.
Shiree is known to be trustworthy, flexible, reliable, fun, caring, an excellent communicator, and honest.
She will be an asset to any individual, family, or company she works for, and I would hire her again without question.
