My Summary
About Me
I enjoy making people and children smile, laugh and have fun! If you are looking for an all-round, happy, funny and sporty Male childcare professional - I could be the person!
Having a sporty outlook - I enjoy playing and coaching football and tennis. I'm very active and like to keep fit and healthy in my spare time. I'm easy to talk and communicate with, active, organised and hardworking! I have a sense of humour and love to be able to create laughter and giggles. I'm fun-loving, firm but fair and able to be a very positive role model towards children.
Additionally, as well as the typical childcare duties, I would have no problem managing other aspects of a household, running errands, managing staff or any PA duties.
From January 2026, I start a Forest School (online) level 3 qualification. This is part-time, can take around 9 months, but can easily be completed whilst working.
My Experience
With over 20 years of experience in childcare (primarily working with children aged 4 - 12), my professional philosophy is grounded in nurturing, coaching, and equipping children with the skills they need to become confident, independent learners. I adopt a learner-centred approach, enabling children to learn through active participation and engaging, stimulating play that is both enjoyable and child-led. This child-centred methodology fosters independence by encouraging children to make decisions, solve problems, and take ownership of their learning, while also supporting the development of self-esteem, identity, and a sense of empowerment.
Within this framework, my role is to guide and support children as a knowledgeable facilitator. I provide a balanced environment that offers both space and access to appropriate resources, while remaining responsive and engaging through meaningful interaction. My practice involves facilitating learning through effective communication and modelling, demonstration, explanation, and purposeful questioning.
Over the past 10 years, I have worked extensively within private households for high-net-worth families in London and internationally. This experience has strengthened my ability to organise, implement, and communicate children’s activities and schedules, liaising confidently with parents as well as external professionals such as educators, healthcare providers, and activity coordinators. My flexibility and adaptability to diverse family cultures and environments are key strengths, as is my ability to engage with children across a range of developmental stages.
Alongside my professional experience, my academic achievements have further reinforced my commitment to child-centred learning. My foundational qualifications in Playwork and Early Years Education, together with my BSc (Honours) Open Degree, have solidified and expanded these principles. Achieving a First-Class Honours degree was a significant personal accomplishment, particularly as it allowed me to develop a strong interest in Child Psychology and Parenting and Families. These areas of study have proven especially valuable in my recent roles, notably in supporting parents of anxious children. Additionally, my studies in Comparative and International Primary Education will be beneficial for future work within international and overseas educational settings.
Driven by a continued interest in Child Psychology, I have further expanded my knowledge through a range of short courses, as outlined in my certifications. Last year, I completed an Advanced Level 5 TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification, enhancing my ability to support children learning or practising English.
