Hello,
My name is Trish and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I have an up to date DBS to work with children and young people. I also have a degree in Education, Culture and Society from Goldsmiths, University of London. I have a full Paediatric First Aid Certificate. I have done observation days at McMillan nursery in Deptford.
I am also a mother to an 8 year old and assist him academically with Kolb and Montessorian strategies (he went to a Montessori nursery). We are great lovers of the outdoors and nature and often spend time in the forest, farms etc.
We love books in our family and are keen readers, story writers and story tellers. We love going for evening walks. We enjoy and embrace creativity in different forms. I love taking my son to inner London for visits to museums and galleries. I educate my son on the importance of the environment and therefore recycle most of our household waste. I have an allotment and currently use it as a source of teaching so that my son understands the process of growth and where our food comes from. I think should interact environment and find that they become better learners as they have a physical understanding of what they are learning and would love to share what we love and enjoy with other families.
My Experience
I am a mum to an 8 year old who has always valued introducing and facilitating children's understanding of the world in a safe, active and fun manner. I have volunteered in various schools and early years settings. In fact, I spent much of my teen assisting a local childminder during the holidays. I have various qualifications in childcare and have researched cultural and societal impact on children in education.
My Qualifications
BA (Hons) in Education, Culture and Society (Goldsmith's University)
NFCE Cache Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home Based Childcare
Paediatric First Aid
Level 2 Food Hygiene
I also have other qualifications in Nursing and Midwifery, Law and Business but am specifically focusing on childcare related qualifications
My Availability
I am available Mon - Fri 8am - 6pm
As a mum I understand wanting a few hours on the weekend to do the household chores, do the food shopping or even meet up for lunch with friends but can't because of childcare. I will therefore offer the occasional Saturdays from 10am - 4pm. I will confirm availability with parents.
