Angie
Childminder in Royston
My Summary
I Have A Monday To Thursday Available From January ♥️
About Me
My name is Angela and I live in Royston and have done for the last 35 years.
I have 4 children aged between 34 and 25. I have 4 grandchildren aged between 14 and 4.
I have my own car and a full and clean driving license.
I am Ofsted registered.
I have been in childcare now for a number of years. After bringing up my own children I went to Hertford College and achieved my level 3 nvq in childcare. I started work at a preschool as a deputy supervisor whilst I completed my level 3 in 2007 and in 2009 I became supervisor and ran the preschool for just over 8 years. I have gained a lot of qualifications along my way both by attending face to face and online training. I then became a nanny before completing training with Ofsted to become a registered childminder in 2017. I have lots of experience with children from birth upwards. I also have experience looking after twins.
I enjoy being out and about and have a clear insight into the early years foundation stages and what is expected and when. I use EYFS trackers to keep track of the children and how they are progressing each term.
At my setting i welcome parents to view before deciding. I know how difficult a decision is to send your child to childcare. I have references from past and present children I have looked after. I have a separate room for children to sleep in away from other children playing. My setting is very much home from home.
I have an up to date paediatric first aid and safeguarding, both of these are updated every 3 years to I can keep up with any changes.
I work closely with a lady called Karen and we meet up most days weather permitting to do crafts and go out to the park, library etc. This enables the children to mix with a wider number of children giving them bigger chances to develop their social skills but still have the home from home feel with a smaller setting.
I am registered to take the 9 month funding, 2 year old funding and the 15 and 30 hrs funding.
I am also registered with a range of different childcare voucher schemes.

Our second daughter has just finished a wonderful year with Angie and has now moved on to pre-school, joining her big sister, who was also lucky enough to be cared for by Angie when she was younger.
This time around, there was never any question about who we wanted to look after our daughter. We knew from experience just how caring, trustworthy and dedicated Angie is, and we wouldn't have considered anyone else.
Our daughter absolutely thrived in Angie's care and genuinely loved every day she spent with her. Angie creates such a warm, nurturing environment and has been an incredible support to us as a family, especially through the ups and downs of potty training, which she handled with endless patience and encouragement.
What has always stood out is how much Angie truly cares about the children she looks after. From exciting outings and new experiences like Safari Stu, trips to the garden centre and picnics in the park, to the thoughtful activities she plans each day, she makes learning fun and memorable. She is also deeply invested in the children's development and has kept us regularly updated on our daughter's progress throughout her time with her.
We have loved receiving the beautiful handmade gifts Angie creates with the children throughout the year. Most of all, I will treasure the photo books she puts together, filled with special memories from our daughter's time in her care.
We are so grateful for everything Angie has done for both of our girls over the years. I genuinely cannot recommend her highly enough.

Our daughter was with Angie for 2 years and we can honestly say that she has been amazing in every way. We would recommend her to absolutely anyone. She provides updates every day on what activities the children have completed, what she has eaten and how long she slept for. She also provides regular communication on development and meets with parents to discuss development reports. My daughter has always been happy at Angie's and looks forwards to going there and spending time with the friends she has made. We couldn't ask for anymore and were all very sad when she left!

When we were looking for childminders for our 1 year old last year, came across Angela's profile. Unfortunately she was full and had no space but suggested her friend, Karen who lives nearby who works with her. Our daughter is with Karen now but we needed childcare for her for 3 months on the days she wasnt with Karen earlier this year and we were told that Angela had space until Sept. We took up the spot without even blinking twice because our little girl already knew Angela, she sees her atleast twice a week so it was a no brainer. Angela was so accommodating and helped us out when we really needed it- and angel! Our girl fit right in, every time we'd go to drop her, she'd go "Hi Angela house" and "bye Angela house" during pick ups. There is no boring day at the messy madhouse. Every day is fun, exciting, so many activities and learning. Angela has been so lovely to our daughter, treating her as one of her own. Although she no longer is with her full time now, she still sees her twice a week and is at the messy madhouse while she is at Karens, its like Angela never left!! Our daughter loved Angela and so did we. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone wanting to leave their child with her, she is marvellous! And we were at peace all the time :) Thank you so much Angela!!

Well what can I say about this wonderful lady, Angie she goes above & beyond! And does really good activities with them all, does arts & crafts and takes them out to little trips to the park, library and many more activities. Angie has been caring for our son since September 2022 when he was only 8 months old! And he has got on so well there, he gets on so well with the other children and he has become a little social butterfly 🦋! Thank you for being such amazing childminder and making wonderful memories with my son. I would 100% recommend angie to anyone! Thank you for caring for our son! ❤️

Angie's review
Our daughter has been with Angie since October 2022. Finding Angie was an absolute godsend, as we were moving to Royston from London we had no hope securing a nursery space with the time we had available and Angie was just amazing, she kept a space open while we waited for our house purchase to complete (and it was inevitably delayed by several weeks). As we have no family nearby, Angie treats our daughter as an extended member of the family and we are forever grateful!
Angie deeply cares about, and is dedicated to the development of, our child. She has only their best interests at heart, she goes above and beyond anything we would have expected and is excellent at keeping parents informed of the children's day and any concerns are flagged early and discussed. We completely trust Angie with the care of our child, she's been just absolutely brilliant and we're sad it's time to move up to preschool.
In Angie's care our little girl has grown into a beautiful, articulate and well rounded toddler who enjoys crafting, reading, singing and dancing as well as being able to communicate with older children, she also is gentle around smaller children and babies. Each holiday, and birthday event is celebrated and our home is bursting with homemade crafts. We have a beautiful book filled with updates and photographs to show how our daughter has progressed in Angie's care, and we also receive periodical updates to show how she is progressing against the curriculum.
We can't recommend Angie highly enough, she's absolutely brilliant and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts!.

Angie has been looking after our 1 year old daughter since September and we could not be happier with the care she provides. Our daughter felt immediately comfortable and happy with Angie as she is so warm and friendly. Angie is very creative and does wonderful craft activities with the children, and lots of messy play! She also makes sure they have plenty of fresh air and outside play and it’s lovely that she works with Karen so the children have an even wider circle of friends and even more expert care by another great childminder. It’s such a good feeling to know that our daughter is getting such incredible care while we are working, and we feel so lucky to have found Angie. Thank you amazing Angie!

Angie was absolutely wonderful with our daughter. Although she only attended for a short time Angie made sure her time there was filled with fun! Angie was particularly brilliant when our daughter went through a really difficult patch and was really struggling to settle. Angie went above and beyond to try and help, even going as far as recommending alternative provision (which it turned out we didn’t need thanks to Angie’s care and attention!)
Everything Angie did with our daughter was kind and thoughtful, from helping her play with toys to the lovely cards and gifts the children made for special occasions. Thank you Angie for everything!

Our son has been at Angie’s for 1.5 years, every day he runs inside and doesn’t look back, a deeply reassuring sign of how content he is. Angie has been INCREDIBLE, so thoughtful, patient and full of love. Despite having a few children in her care, she has the ability of making you feel like she’s totally dedicated to the development of your child.
As we’ve grown as parents, I couldn’t have imagined having a better set up for our son. We implicitly trust Angie and know she has our son’s best interests at heart. Angie’s communication is reassuring and consistent, she understands the wants and needs of parents brilliantly.
A typical day at The Messymadhouse is full of colour, creativity and fun learning. Our boy has come on so well in Angie’s care. Angie is brilliant at celebrating landmark occasions and pours love and care into sentimental keep sakes for parents to shed a well up over.
Angie, you are amazing and we can’t thank you enough for the support you’ve given our family. Thank YOU!

Our daughter has been attending Angie's since the age of 1 for a little over 2 years. We have been very happy with the care that Angie has provided in this time. Angie goes above and beyond what might be expected of a child minder and seems to never tire of keeping up a full schedule of engaging activities for the children. Our daughter really enjoys her time with Angie, and we are very grateful we can trust Angie completely with her care. She is very caring and patient with the children and has a good attitude to dealing with difficult behaviour.
Angie provides lots of activities for the children she looks after, including many crafts, music time, reading books to them, and trips out to the park as well as larger trips out to Wimpole Hall. Particularly special is the parties she puts on with another child minder for events such as birthdays and Christmas. She regularly buys new toys based on the needs of the children she has at the time to keep them engaged and stimulated. She is very generous with her time and money in preparing activities for the children and buying gifts.
Angie keeps track of each individual's learning progress and spends regular 1-to-1 time to encourage each child in their progress. As well as typical learning activities this included for our daughter taking the lead on her potty training when she was ready, which went very well. We get regular updates from Angie and many lovely photos of all that our daughter gets up to. Angie has always been helpful and flexible where possible when we have needed to make adjustments to our daughter's schedule.
We plan to send our second child to Angie's and would recommend her to anyone!
