My name is Angela and I live in Royston and have done for the last 28 years.
I have 4 children aged between 28 and 20. I have 2 grandchildren both aged 8.
I have my own 7 seater car and a full and clean driving license.
I am Ofsted registered and also a member of Pacey.
I have been in childcare now for a number of years. After bringing up my own children I went to Hertford College and achieved my level 3 nvq in childcare. I started work at a preschool as a deputy supervisor whilst I completed my level 3 in 2007 and in 2009 I became supervisor and ran the preschool for just over 8 years. I have gained a lot of qualifications along my way both by attending face to face and online training. I then became a nanny before completing training with Ofsted to become a registered childminder. I have lots of experience with children from birth upwards.
I enjoy being out and about and have a clear insight into the early years foundation stages and what is expected and when.
At my setting i welcome parents to view before deciding. I know how difficult a decision is to send your child to childcare. I have references from past and present children I have looked after. I have a seperate room for children to sleep in away from other children playing. I attend various playgroups through the week allowing children to socialise. My setting is very much home from home.
I have an up to date paediatric first aid and safeguarding.
I will be able to do school pick ups from Roman Way Nursery and First School.
I am registered to take the 2 year old funding and the 15 and 30 hrs funding.
I am also registered with a range of different childcare voucher schemes.
I have uploaded a list of my qualifications my Ofsted report as well as a few other bits in the documents section.
CACHE Level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development
NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Homebased Care
I have uploaded a full list of my qualifications in documents

My daughter has just recently left Angie to start pre school after a year and a half, and we cannot speak more highly of her. From the moment we set foot in her house, Angie was so welcoming, kind and loving towards our whole family. She took the time to talk to me about my worries and concerns and put me at ease. There were several settling in sessions which were very beneficial and the daily feedback (both written and oral) were really informative and is now a lovely reminder of the progress my daughter made over the time spent with Angie.
On a daily basis, my daughter enjoyed a vast range of activities (art and craft, messy play, role play, water play, etc) and was often taken out and about on day trips, walks, park visits etc. At the end of each term, Angie completed an assessment of progress in line with the current EYFS curriculum, which she would always take time to discuss and share ideas of how we could help our daughter at home.
Angie provided snacks and lunch which were always varied and she was very helpful and supportive with my daughter's issues around food.
My husband and I loved the fact that Angie took the time to get to know our daughter and build up such a close relationship with her. We knew that she was always safe and loved and that if she was having a bad day, there would be many many cuddles! We will all miss her greatly and are grateful that we found someone who could give our daughter so much one to one attention and support in her early years.
I found Angela through this website 2.5 years ago and I am so grateful I did. My daughter has been there almost 2.5 years and has enjoyed her time so much. My son is just starting and I'm so glad I can be confident that he's going to a good childminder. Angela is good at building up relationship with the children, understanding what they enjoy and what they need to help them settle, develop etc. My daughter loves the focused time she has with Angela, doing craft or number work and especially baking! Angela regularly has new toys and activities for the children to do which my daughter finds really exciting. Both my children have food intolerances/ allergy and I have confidence in Angela to take care of them and provide suitable food
We asked Angela to look after our son when he was only under 5 months. She and her family and other children really love our son; I always feel Angela is like family, she wasn't just doing her job to look after children, instead, she genuinely care about them, just like her own children. I didn't have to worry during my working hours at all.
Due to her previous experience in pre-school, she has a lot of inspirational activities and her drawings are really creative. She led children to make either a card or some other things (like painting on pots, making hand/foot print key rings etc) for every festive day (Father's day, mother's day, Christmas, .....) They're amazing. After seeing these things, I felt as an adult, I am so lack of creativity!
She taught children good behaviours, that's really important. Relationships among the several children there are really good. She can be very magic - e.g in her house, my son will run to sit on the floor to wait for his snacks if he sees it coming, but he would take the snack running around in our own house making mess. I never know how she did it!
She taught my son to count and we were all so excited to hear a young baby counting!!
She took children out a lot - proper outing - National Trust etc. Very few childminders offer this experience. She goes to local library and soft play very often too.
She never gets ill. The reason I'm saying this is - I had the worry when I was looking for a childminder that how often I would have to ask for annual leave without notice due to a childminder's sick leave. But I don't remember any day, so it really saved a lot of my troubles. She also has a buddy childminder; they often go out together and help each other.
I highly recommend her! Really a fantastic childminder that you can fully trust and rely on.
I can’t stress enough how good Angela is!!! Literally everything about her and her child care setting is outstanding! From the creative play, learning and her super organisation. My daughter started and could hardly speak she talks so well now and never cried when I took her she loved Angela as everyone naturally does. The activities to engage learning are the best Angela should just run a school. She provides great food and puts 110% into everything you could not find a better childminder for your children.
Angie is a wonderful lady and an excellent childminder. My son has been with her for 9 months and has thrived in her care. He looks forward to going everytime and comes home happy and exhausted. Shes encourages healthy eating and the kids are always busy having fun. She is always intrested and and keeps the kids engaged and let's you know straight away of any concerns re development etc. In short shes brilliant and am sad to be leaving her services.
