I have had various placements whilst studying at college such as Constable Lee primary school in both reception and year 1. In year 1, I supported the low ability group when they were taken out of class for their work and learnt about planning under the national curriculum.
Educare for early years was another placement I have had. Here I worked with the preschool class and toddlers when they needed extra support was needed. I helped set up craft activities and had a group of children that I helped during keyworker time. These placements were in my first year.
At Staghills Children centre, where I spent my second year. I worked in their nursery, which is for children from 3 years old up until school age.
In 2014 I transferred to work in their Hedgehogs club, which is for children from birth till 3. In both these places, I have supported a group of 8 children, as part of a year of 80
My tasks included serving snacks to both groups, I also baked and cooked with the children, made play dough with them, ran craft activities and put groups of children to bed for their naps.
As well as the experience I have had through college I am registered with OFSTED as an assistant child-minder to Claire Farrer, who is based at her home, 31 Greendale Avenue Newchurch.
