My Summary

My Experience

I have worked a season with Esprit 28th November 2015- 28th February 2016 as a nanny with children 14 weeks-3 years and also worked with the older children ranging from 4 years-12 years. Activity plans were planned out a week before, and children were always doing fun filled activities that met their age and stage in the EYFS. I love the outdoors and the children were always messy from painting, to bumboarding.

I have also had experience with additional needs, I spent 3 months in an additional needs class room in a primary school. I have also been at my current nursery for nearly 3 years where I have worked with children with all needs including children with autism.

In March 2014 I went to The Gambia in Africa for 8 days, where we visited a lot of schools, where we taught nursery rhymes,played games, and I even had a chance to teach mathematics to a classroom of 40 children mixed ages for 30 minutes.

September 2016-January 2020
I worked as an early years educator at a Busy bees and after 6 months was promoted as an assistant room manager within a preschool room, my job was to assist the room manager in the smooth running of the room also being a key worker planning activities for each age and stage of the individual children’s needs following the EYFS.

January 2020-2022

I worked as a Toddler senior room manager with the 18 months to 3 year olds for the last year and a half I have a great relationship with the children and have built fantastic partnerships with the parents in this time, within my role I have dealt with different behaviours, needs and also care needs! I love my job and really enjoy providing really exciting activities for the children each day to really expand their learning outcomes and helping them to get the best out of their learning and development!

July-September 2022- I worked for Disney Cruise Line as a Nursery counsellor, I worked 70 hours 7 days a week in the nursery on board with children aged 4months-3 years, the nursery was a holiday club for young children where we would play lots of games, watch films and do lots of crafts!

October 2022- April 2023

I worked as a supervisor at the new nursery in Longhedge called Happy Days, where I started early to help set up the nursery in preparation for our big opening, it has been very rewarding and it has been an honour to help get ready for our lovely new children to come through our doors in January!

Youth Staff- P&O Cruise Lines

I worked with the following age groups 2-4,5-8, 13-17.


I worked for P&O Cruise Lines as Youth staff, I started my contract working with the 5-8 year olds in the surfers room for the majority of my contract, where my job role was to entertain the children whilst they were in my care ,by supervising their play hosting themed activities, games and also discos.

I then worked in the 2-4 splashers room,where as above I hosted games, discos and supervised their play. This room wasn’t as structured as the older age groups and there was a lot of free play that I supervised whilst they were in our care. Also meeting their physical and emotional needs such as nappy changing, helping with toileting and soothing them when their carers were not around.

In my last few weeks I worked in the Scene room which was for 13-17 year olds. In this room, they were alot more independent, self sufficient happy to do their own thing and they could come and go whenever they pleased, so my responsibility was to make sure there was always something for them to do and play games and chat with them.

This age group also had access to a programme called Scene + which I was then rotated on to assist the different activities that went on around the ship. Such as silent discos, band nights, mini golf, table tennis, ship hunts etc.

During my time working for P&O I also took part in family discos in the club house, Family Zone and Turtle tots which was sensory classes for under 2’s. I also assisted Wallace, Gromit and Shaun the sheep for meet and greets.

During the evenings we offered a night nursery service for under 4 year olds, where the parents would drop their sleeping children off to us, so they could enjoy the adult only evening entertainment. My responsibility with this ,was to make sure the children were safely sleeping and if they woke up and I couldn’t settle them back to sleep ,I would contact the parents via a pager to come and collect or soothe them back to sleep. We would often offer this service up until 12am or 2am if the parents booked night nursery extra.

Standard: £13 ph between 10am- 12am

£15 ph between 12am- 10am (over night stays)
