About Me

* Graded Outstanding at last two Ofsted inspections, please search my name Emma-Jane Daniels for my inspection reports on Ofsted’s website

I am a fully qualified, Ofsted Registered, member of PACEY Childminder based in Welwyn Garden City.

My husband and I have 2 older teens who have grown up with many mindees and made life long friends, we share our home with a beautiful Labrador (the most adored one in the setting!) and 2 Siamese cats that have always lived with young children in a busy household. We have giant African Land Snails in the play room which the children help to care for. We are animal mad here using any opportunity to see more locally and enjoy nature. I currently mind a range of Children, most of whom started with me as babies or toddlers and stay on throughout primary too!

I strongly believe in learning through fun and so plan activities to link in with EYFS goals. From messy play with shaving foam to shop play and counting out coins. Every game has learning potential and the main focus is always to have fun. The most popular resource is the home corner, a large wooden set with a cooker, washing machine and sink and next is my large outdoor fire pit bowl which is now a place to mix up herbs we grow with water, mud, sticks and any other seasonal outdoor items. I’m regularly presented with ‘soup’ or perfume! It’s a beautiful way to play and learn in nature.

I attend various playgroups, soft play centres, baby rhyme time, parks, farms and museums. Catering for each age range on a regular basis. I have a sectioned area in my garden the children have access to.

Cooking fresh food is important to me and the older Children are able to help with this. A favourite is visiting Mill Green Museum, buying the milled flour and making pizza with it when we get home.

I try to make it feel like home from home, and can safely say with every family I have worked with, it really is. I have worked with some wonderful families over the years, all of whom I am still in touch with. Each Child touches your heart and you get to share a small part of their lives, this is something you always remember, a small part of their journey to school and sometimes bit longer too.

I am lucky to have many recomendations within my portfolio and will be happy to share this and my Ofsted report with parents.

I have many years experience as a Childminder with babies up to 11 year olds, whom I am still in contact with.

I hold a wide range of toys, books and games designed to stimulate and educate. I have a large secure garden and a dedicated playroom. I am also lucky enough to back onto fields which we use to fly kites, have picnics and go blackberry picking.

My Fees

  • Childminding from £6.50 per hour

My fee's are £6.50 per hour, inline with most other childminders in the area and include 3 home made family meals (which we eat together and talk through our day), snacks and drinks throughout the day. I also include school drop off and collection. The most important thing is the child is comfortable and fits in well with our little group, is happy and secure and will always work through any concerns you may have to make it a happy time for all. It is all about it working for all of us, children, parents and myself. If the hours do not suit, please contact me as I am always flexible where possible.

Below are the latest reviews for HappyApp. Please note that reviews represent the subjective opinions of other Childcare.co.uk users and not of Childcare.co.uk. Parents must carry out their own checks and references on childcare providers to ensure that they are completely happy before enaging in the use of their services.

Emma has looked after our two children since they were 10 and 12 months old. She is a wonderful childminder who treats the children as if they are her own. Her home is their home and they have both thrived in her care. She has a lovely, gentle dog who they both adore. Emma is a great believer in learning through play, her playroom is full of exciting and educational toys and games and she has a secure sheltered garden which they spend a lot of time in in summer. The children regularly come home with things they’ve made for special occasions, whether it be Halloween, Christmas or Easter. I highly recommed Emma to anyone looking for a safe, nurturing and happy childcare setting!
