About Me
I'm a motivated and experienced educator with a passion for ensuring each child achieves their potential and is well cared for.
With over 18 years of childcare and teaching experience, I have more recently moved into a physiotherapy and coaching career. I am currently undertaking a Physiotherapy degree at Keele University but offer tuition on a part-time basis alongside this.
I tailor my teaching and childcare to the interests of those I work with and come with a wealth of experience in both educational and other childcare roles including private nanny (sole charge) work, babysitting, children’s activity club leadership and organisation.
My availability for tuition provision increases during the holiday periods and I am happy to arrange this in advance, as per you and your child’s/children's needs.
My DBS is registered on the update service as per the nature of my employment roles (enhanced check).
I welcome an initial FaceTime conversation to discuss your needs and wants for your child/children at no cost. I may also suggest a short initial, non-tutoring meeting prior to starting any tutoring work - it is important that your child feels comfortable around me and allows me to identify any ways in which I can best support their wider needs (e.g., communication or emotional) beyond educational support.
My Experience
12 years of teaching experience in the north east of England and London. Posts have included: General class teacher (Year groups Reception to Year 5), SATS booster teaching for Key Stage 1 & 2, Specialist early Maths teacher, Phonics lead teacher, Literacy & Maths subject leadership. My last school-based teaching role was as an Assistant Headteacher, teaching a Year 2 class, leading English and the Curriculum across the school.
I have always taught within mainstream schools but have a great deal of experience with inclusion and the teaching of children with additional needs (English as an additional language and SEN provision) within these environments.
Other non-teaching experience includes:
Healthcare work experience within paediatric care
Overseas private, sole charge Nanny (for an 8 year old girl)
Overseas children's club manger (for holiday companies Thomas Cook and Dordogne Country Club)
TEFL teacher (teenagers and adults)
Nursery nanny (6 months to 3 years)
Camp America activities counsellor (shared care of children aged 6 - 9 years)

My Availability
Changeable depending upon the time of year (as per my degree timetable and work placements) - increased flexibility and availability across holiday periods.
Summer 2025 update: Variety of weekday and weekend times are available.

Fees tbn based upon tutoring needs.
Block bookings and payment available upon discussion.
Please note that mileage fees are applicable beyond a 2.5 mile travel distance.
