About Me
My name is Susannah and I am the owner of Mariposas childminding. I live with my two girls who are 12 & 7 years old. I am dedicated to my children & my childminding business.
I have previously worked in a nursery school for the past 18 years and in January 2016 I decided to open my own childminding business.
As a parent myself I understand how difficult it can be to leave your child in the care of someone else. I like to work very closely with parents and build good relationships so you can feel at ease when you leave your child for your work day. I like to send lots of photos of the children's daily activities etc.. t
I have a child friendly, spacious house and an outdoor area with lots of stimulating resources for children of all ages. I like to take the children out a lot on educational trips and to explore nature. A few places we like to visit are parks, playgroups, craft and singing sessions, farms, play centres, forests and lots more.
I previously lived in Spain for a while where I learnt quite a lot of the Spanish language. I have taught both of my daughters basic Spanish since birth and now I also teach basics to the other children in my care through their play, singing and lots of fun activities. It has proven to be a big success.
I am also available for school holiday care for children up to 12 years. I like the children to be involved with the planning of outings and activities. Children's ideas about things they like to do, places to go and food they like are always encouraged.
I offer part time spaces.

My daughter has been in Susannah's care for over a year and during this time has grown into a happy and confident little girl. Susannah has played a huge part in her development in that she has given my daughter guidance in manners, play, sharing and of course her loving care. I cannot stress enough how I would not hesitate to recommend Susannah as a childminder and have found her to be extremely competent, conscientious and trustworthy. I am particularly impressed that Susannah is teaching my three old daughter Spanish; she knows more words than me. I would have 100% confidence that she would be able to offer any child in her care everything that is required and more.

I would highly reccommend Mariposas childminding, my 2 sons go here 5 days and daughter 1 day after school, since starting with Susannah over a year ago they have come on developmentally so well in each area and have so much fun everyday doing different activities and going on different outings, they are always fed and watered well and looked after with 100% care and responsibilty, my kids love Susannah and her daughters as there own family and look forward to going every day, when i pick them up they are always happy and cleaned up ready to come home with pictures, models or gifts, Susannah also teaches them basic spanish in which my 2 year old know can understand and speak very well.. (i had better get learning haha) i really cannot say one bad or negative thing about this lady and her work ethic when looking after mine and other children, i dont know what i would do without her, i 100% trust her and feel completely at ease when my children are in her care!
