Hi I’m Ruth, and have worked with children for almost 20 years. I qualified as an Early Years Professional in 2008 and have worked in Nurseries, Children’s Centres, schools, children’s charities and Family Support Service in the years since,
In 2017 I decide to set up my own business as an Ofsted Registered Childminder, gaining an Oustanding in my 2019 inspection.
I have a passion for high quality, child-led provision at the setting. We spend most of our day outdoors in our garden, or at the beach or up on the Downs. Our setting has a huge number of resources for children to be engaged in child centred learning and following the EYFS is all play based. We love water play, sand, making mud pies in our mud kitchen and exploring nature together!
Last year I extended our provision by building a garden cabin and renovated our family room, and this year we have landscaped our garden; all the more space for lots of fun, messy play and learning!
My husband and I have been married since 2008 and have a love of the outdoors, camping, sea swimming, and visiting his homeland of Finland. We love opening our home that we share with our tabby cat Lilja to our Natural Explorer friends! In 2021 our baby boy was born and so I will be returning to work after maternity leave for three days a week, and our son is looking forward to having some friends to join him!
