Hello my name is Wendy and I'm 48 yrs old . I have a 24 yr old daughter .
I am a reliable, trustworthy, honest , kind , caring , friendly person who likes to be able to support people when I can .
I enjoy being with Children of all ages and abilities.
I really enjoy being indoors doing crafts , cross stitching , baking, board games etc and outdoors playing in parks , cinema's , cafe's etc .
My Experience
I have worked with children since I have completed my college course in 1995 .
1996- 1997 Nanny for a family with three children 3yrs, 5yrs and 7yrs . I took alot of responsibilities for these childen due to their parents being separated and the father having full parental rights . The youngest had social issues so I spent alot of time supporting him . We did alot of activities indoors to try and help him gain the confidence to go outside , it worked as watching him running to nursery with his siblings was just so magical .
1999- 2006 This was when I took time out to be a mum to two children , my youngest developed Atopic Eczema so I spent alot of time caring for his needs at hospital , clinics , groups etc . We spent alot of time at pengreen centre and I was asked to start a course .
2005- 2008 Creche course at pengreen centre then worked there looking after children newborn to 4yrs
2007- 2009 Attended a mum's and tots group with my son , took over running the group and supported parents and children aged between newborn - 4 yrs .
2010- 2011 Worked partime at a after school club 5yrs- 11yrs.
2012- 2015 Started working at Beanfield primary school as a lunch time supervisor and cleaner . Durning this time I was asked to work with the disabled children supporting feeding , changing , playing, walking etc . These children had various disabilities such as Autistic, ADHD, Autism , Hearing problems ,Walking problems etc .
2018- 2021 Worked full time with Mencap disabled adults full time , which involved supporting the individual adults to live a fulfilled life , supporting with daily routines, personal care, appointments, shopping, socializing etc etc .
2021- 2022 Not in employment as looking for a job .
4th October 2022- 7th February 2023 Worked full time with voyage care with disabled adults and the job was the same as mencap but just with a different company.
7th February 2023- 4th May 2023 Not working due to moving house .
4th May - present Working for United response with disabled adults, but am looking to working with children again
