About Me
52 year old science teacher and mum to a 7 year old.
My Requirements
Hi, my 7 year old attends a private school in Derby & he gets extra holidays on top of normal school time holidays. In fact he gets an extra 5 weeks off per year.
8 weeks in July and August, instead of 6.
2 weeks in October, instead of 1
3 weeks in December, instead of 2.
3 weeks in Easter, instead of 2
As I am a teacher myself, in a state school, my holidays do not align with his.
It is these extra 5 weeks that we are looking for someone to care for my boy. As well, as other times throughout the year, when my husband and I are not available.
Ideally, you will have other older children or you will look after my boy on a 1-2-1 basis in our home, where all his toys are.
Your ability to drive and take him on day trip to the local park or cinema, museums, picnics or to adventure parks would be great. And you must be able to play with him or have other children who he can play with.

Harjit looks after my 7 year old for a week or two at a time. Usually from 10:30-3:30 or 7am-3:30, during term time, when he has broken up from school and I am at work.
I make my little boy packed lunches everyday, so Harjit doesn’t need to bother with lunch, as my boy can by picky with his food. Harjit specialises in Asian cooking, but will make my boy an additional sandwich, when needed.
I also ask Harjit to do school work with him daily. Either his timetables, maths or writing practice.
She is kind with him, and perseveres with him when he naturally does not want to do any of this school work.
She has also painted with him, plays board or card games with him. When he wants to go outside to kick his football around, she will go out with him and supervise.
As she is unfamiliar with my local area, she does not take W out on trips to the park or other areas of interest. So they stay in the house and kill time, until I or my husband get home.
Harjit, also potters around the downstairs, keeping everything clean and tidy and helps my boy to organise his toys etc, so the place is kept tidy. She hoovers up and washes my pots, in addition to her main duty.
Honestly, if we didn’t have Harjit, I do not know what we would do. Harjit is paid cash in hand at the end of the week & is flexible with dates and times.

Thank you very much for your kind words Victoria. It is always lovely helping you out and looking after W who is a joy to look after.
Victoria is very kind, accommodating and reassuring. She has always made me feel welcomed into the house and feel part of the family. Victoria explains everything clearly and is such a lovely lady. I always enjoy my time with W and working for Victoria.
I look forward to seeing you again soon! :)
