my name is Joanne, I am a mother of 2, step-mother of 2, grand mother of 7 and great grand mother of 2.
I am an OFSTED registered Good childminder and a member of PACEY.
My history is in primary education and I changed career to tap into my desire to make a personal difference in children's lives.
I love the moment something clicks in a child's head or they achieve something and that expression of understanding and satisfaction appears. This helps make my day a good one.
My Experience
I worked as a classroom assistant for 8 years, this included small group work, one year working part-time in a nurture group, one-to-one work with children of varying needs and leading whole class lessons. I also worked as a lunch time supervisor for 3 years and I helped to lead a school breakfast club for 2 years.
I have been very active in the lives of the children in my life and I have raised two (pretty awesome) boys, alone, whilst working and studying. For this I feel I have achieved.
I have now been working as a childminder for 6 years and all the children in my care are achieving.
My Qualifications
Home based childcare award, safeguarding including FGM, prevent training, level 2 food hygiene, paediatric first aid, level 2, 3 and higher level teacher's assistant award, delivering the EYFS, supporting childen's emotional well-being, schemas, expectations of behaviour, promoting positive behaviour, mental health in the early years, transitions, dental hygiene in the early years, supporting children with speech, language and communication needs, two's count.
My Availability
My 'desired' hours are:
Monday-Wednesday,
8.00am-5pm, (this is negotiable).
I currently Have no space but September I will have spaces for 2 children over 5 years old Mondays - Wednesdays, and one extra space just on a Monday. this is term-time and school holidays.
