My name is Carol, I am an Ofsted registered childminder in Bury, Ramsey. I live with my Husband and my two lovely boys aged 9 and 7. We are a loving family with a great sense of humour and live just a two minute walk from Bury CE Primary School.
At Honey Bumpkin we offer the full package of childminding services and early years educating children, under the guidance of Ofsted’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), for families in and around the Bury and Ramsey area.
I offer places in Term Time and School Holidays for Children between the ages of 0 - 12 years. As well as offering half days and full days for pre-school children, we also provide a before school breakfast and drop off as well as a collection from school and health home cooked meals, if required.
Here at Honey Bumpkin I offer a loving home from home experience for children. I have an ever increasing array of toys and books with plenty of room to play. Your child will have the opportunity to choose their own toys to play with and learn, children are given the ability to have fun and express themselves. As a childminder I get more opportunity for 1:1 time with your child. I follow Ofsted's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines for educating your child through creative learning and play.
Our home both inside along with our garden has been visited and checked by Ofsted for suitability for a safe childminding environment for children. We have a securely enclosed garden to the rear of our home for outdoor play. There will also be pre-arranged or scheduled trips for children to explore the children's environment around them. This will include toddler groups, interesting educational places and play parks.
Your child will have available healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day. If required, I offer a healthy home cooked meal for all day, afternoon or after school children. I believe in a good stable diet and offer a variety of food from different cultures. If you need an early start then I also offer a before school breakfast and school drop off service.
My childminding training has been completed, as well as ongoing training, with the national recognised childcare organisation Pacey. I have also completed my Paediatric First Aid training with Cambridge Medical Training Limited.
My Experience
I have qualified with Pacey and have been inspected by Ofsted to Childmind children from 0-12 years.
I have worked in Children's Services within the Statutory Assessment and Resources Team for children with Special Educational Needs for over 3 years.
I have experience of newborns, young and older children from bringing up my own 2 children, babysitting and helping out at our local Play Group.
My Qualifications
Ready To Mind (Autumn 2016)
Training through PACEY) Professional Association of Childcare and Early Years). I have attended and completed a childminder course to understand and how to set up a home based childcare service, this included a Child Protection training.
Paediatric First Aid (November 2016)
Currently complies with the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines and is valid for three years.
Safeguarding (April 2017)
Completed a personal development course on Safeguarding children.

Honey Bumpkin is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 6:30pm (Except Public Holidays)

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.15 per hour
We are are open from Monday to Friday, 7am to 6.30pm. Childcare is available in term time and throughout the school holidays. We are closed for all public holidays.
Our hourly rate is £3.75 per hour which includes drinks and health snacks. Meals are charged extra. If you would rather, we are happy for you to provide a ‘pack-up’ for your child/children.
Breakfast £1
This includes drinks and a choice of yogurts, fruit, toast and a selection of cereals.
Lunch £1
This includes drinks and a choice of sandwiches, vegetable sticks, fruit, yogurt, beans on toast, soup with a roll or bread.
Dinner £2
This includes drinks and a home cooked meal. Details can be supplied upon request.
Payments
We do not charge you in advance for our services. Invoices are created approximately 5 days before the end of each month. These invoices will detail your particular charges in detail and settlement will need to be made no later than the last day of the same month. We are able to accept childcare voucher. These payment usually take a few days to process, please make sure payments are received on or before the last day of the month. Late Payment fee will be charged at £5 per day.
Free 15 hours Government Funded Childcare
Every child in England who is aged three or four is able to claim 570 hours of free early education or childcare each year. This can be taken during term time only, which usually equates to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks a year. We, as a childcare providers, offer the opportunity to parents to take advantage of this free funding.
School Holidays
We offer childcare throughout the school holidays. These are either per hour or can be based on one of the predefined day or half day rates.
Late Collection of your child
Late collection will be charged at 15 minute intervals based on £3.75 per hour.
Absent or Illness
- Child or parent illness - Full fee will be charged on all contracted hours/days of children who are absent.
- Childminder illness - No Fee.
- Parents Holiday/Annual Leave - Full fee will be charged on all contracted hours/days of children who are absent.
- Childminder Annual Holiday - No Fee (Normally 2 weeks per year, these will be advised).
Term Time only contracts
If your child is on a term time only contact and you wish to maintain their place with ourselves in September then a retainer fee will be due. This fee will be charged on the last invoice before the school summer holiday. This fee will then be deducted from your following September invoice. This is a common practise by childminders.
