About Me

We are a widcombe based family with 3 kids - 8,6 and 4. Very sadly our long term nanny has had to leave us for personal reasons and we are looking for before and after school care 3-4 days a week, that could be extended to include housekeeping if you wanted additional hours. We are open to before or after school options rather than both or fewer days and currently to options for short term cover or longer term agreements.

My Requirements

Housekeeper
After School Nanny
Part Time Nanny

Summary
Before (7-9am) and after school (3-7pm) care for three busy children who do several after school activities - including tennis, swimming, cricket and piano. Would need to drive (our car or your own). Can be flexible on number or days and / or add hours for housekeeping if that is something that appeals

About us
We are looking for a nanny to partner with us in looking after our 3 children - R, H, and J. They are all generally happy and enthusiastic and all love exploring outside, going on adventures, and playing games / puzzles/ make believe etc. inside. We are told they are polite and well behaved for others... though we find they need a lot of reminding to say please and thank you, not to whine, and not to take their wrestling too far :) If it helps to know a little bit more about them:

- R (8, in Year 4) - R is very active, curious and chatty (very chatty). He loves all sports – and when he can’t be playing one, still enjoys being outside whether it's exploring, looking for bugs, building dens or riding his bike.. He is fearless about anything active and up for trying anything. He is curious about everything but needs prompting to do his homework etc everyday

- H (6, in year 2) - H is constantly running to keep up with his big brother. 95% of the time they are as thick as thieves and really happy playing with each other, while the other 5% of the time they know exactly how to wind each other up. H plays a lot of tennis and rugby. He is more independent even though he is younger and loves puzzles, figuring out how things work and numbers.

- J (just 4 in October): J is a classic 3rd child: she is used to being lugged around after her brothers and generally happy with that but she is increasingly independent and knows her own mind – especially about what she wants to wear in the morning! She loves dancing and music, stories, and going to pre-school at acorns.

We both have busy full-time jobs that are primarily outside of Bath and our children have (except during maternity leaves) always had full time childcare. In the past we have found that with the right set up the children are really happy this way. Their two previous nannies have been considered extended family and we hope that will continue in future. Both of us try and do the school run at least 1 day a week and we have 2 sets of grandparents who are very close to the children and part of their lives as well.

It's really important to us that our children feel secure and supported, that they have good manners, that they are encouraged to be kind and considerate of others (and each other!), that they are able to be active, and that they are with people who encourage their curiosity and sense of adventure - whether that's in practicing reading, exploring outside, trying a new food, or talking about what is going on in the world.

We have a back garden that isnt huge, but is big enough for some football / cricket on the grass.

In terms of location/ transport links:
- Our house is less than 10 minute walk from Widcombe high street / the train station and a couple of minutes further from Southgate and the leisure centre
- We have permit parking an a car that we’d be happy to insure you on or can pay mileage if you prefer to use yours
- The walk to J and H’s school is <1 mile on pavements that are fine for a buggy / scooter / bike depending on the child and the day; R’s is a mile down the towpath

If you think this set up would appeal to you then we'd be delighted to have a chat.
