I'm Joss i am caring, patient and empathetic as well as understanding when it comes to looking after children from birth to teens. I have vast knowledge on child attachments, and how to build positive child/adult relationships. I am a big believer in creating safe spaces for children.
I have 17 plus years experience working with children and families as a Nursery Teacher, Manny, Support worker, (working with families with severe needs) and working with children who have mental health issues due to being in traumatic environments.
I have vast experience with babies, toddler's and teens, i'm also qualified and have a uptodate DBS, uptodate safeguarding and a first aid certificate. Also i won Uk Nanny Of The Year Award in June 2022 and National National Diversity Award In 2019 for being a positive male role model plus a few more .
I have a sensitive and heartfelt approach towards working with children ( I'm literally as soft as wool. I'm big on expression and emotion. And that's something I advocate for men and children especially. I like to help children learn their emotions and how to deal with them. I call them ( big emotions). I also have two younger brothers, which have had a leading impact on my career choice and an understanding of children.
Over the last 17 years I have gained knowledge and a wide range of experiences as an Early Years Practitioner and a Nanny/Manny, from working in different settings as a Nursery Manager, Room Leader and an Early Years Practitioner. I have been a Nanny/ Manny alongside doing my other roles for a number of different families full time and part time.
I am now a full time Nanny/ Manny and work for a number of different families at any given time with Children as young as 3 weeks old. Offering a high standard, child led and heartfelt level of childcare. Helping families find balance and nurturing these little minds that are the next generation. My approach is also Trauma Informed.
As for childcare.. Jossy Care only offers a Temp, AdHoc service - Nannying, Babysitting, Travel Care, Maternity Care Etc plus parent support.. I offer this service all over the UK.
Safeguarding / Settling Steps = CONSULTATION .
As SAFEGUARDING for us is paramount. ( All Zoom calls are recorded ) and the consultation process has a fee. At the stage of booking in the first Zoom.
1. Zoom Call with parent/parents.
2. Zoom call again with children/ child ( story time or child led interview dependant on age.
3. Play date in your local park or coffee shop that child is familiar with
4. Playdate at home.
5. Small or big settling in dependant on child...
Only after that will Jossy Care be able to be BOOKED for childcare..
All based on if it all goes well and if we are all in alignment and the energy is right... And IF CHILD CHOOSES ME.
Jossy Care initiates consultations at a one of rate & settling periods for all new families of up to two weeks depending on the child and family. A discussion will be had at the initial meeting to establish how best to make the transition of a new carer coming into their home a smooth one.
The process of settling in is intended to bridge the gap for the child between home care and that of a stranger caring for them in their home. We are aware that all children respond differently,
some children embrace this new experience with an enthusiasm that can leave you feeling confident and comfortable. It should help a child to become accustomed to Jossy Care and form an attachment as we will be with them for much of the time. Without even realising, this is the first step we take in following our ethos which is to give a child a choice. “The key to giving children choices is to first decide what choices you will allow them to make”.
I have measureless knowledge on child attachments, weaning, sleep routines, potty training and how to build positive child and adult relationships.
I also travel with families, and have worked in numerous countries as a travel Manny. Such as Saudia Arabia, Antigua, Switzerland plus more. I love learning new cultures, and being in new environments with children. Exploring, swimming, and adapting.
Being a male childcare specialist is amazing. I may be the last man standing lol. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. Its moulded me into a heart-warming kind and caring individual.
This is more than just work or childcare. I genuinely love to help families find balance as well as to promote positive change and have fun at the same time.
I have a blog based around children and parenting, just to show how passionate I am about child development and positive parenting. And on The 21st of September 2019 I won a “National Diversity Award” for being a positive role model. Which was aired on ITV London. I have also been featured on BBC for my work, ITV, and interviewed on various podcasts and blogs around childcare, mental health and how i put love into what i do ( a mini documentary ) as well as the Hackney Gazette, Sun News Paper, Time Out Radio and various radio stations and social media platforms.
I am committed to doing the best for the families and children that I work alongside, with sole focus on the child’s wellbeing and personal and social development. I constantly keep in mind that what I do can have a long-term or a short-term effect on the children in my care, I always work within legislation to safeguard myself and them as well staying grounded and child focused at all times when working.
Not sure If it’s a hobby, but I am a bit of a chef, and love to read, write, poetry and also go for walks and sight see as well as attending art shows or adventuring around the worlds numerous museums and countries. I also have a season ticket for Arsenal football club with my family ( heart breaking I know )
I am registered self employed. So I pay my own taxes And that is reflective of the amount I charge on and off of here. iI also only work for families long term temp or short term temp, adhoc, babysitting and travel care i do not offer full time childcare.

For as long as I’ve known this man he has always had a caring and loving nature. He has always been good with children of all ages and he is the definition of doing something that you truly love. Anything this man does is from the heart, he will love and protect your children as if they are his own. He will teach them right from wrong at all times in a manner no parent can fault and a lot of parents can learn from. Having an exceptional work ethic and mindset ready to apply to any profession; the childcare industry are lucky to have Joss. If he doesn’t deserve the award and even more than I don’t know who does.
