About Me

Hi, I'm Kirstie, I’m a professional and caring nanny with over 15 years experience caring for babies and children from newborn to school age. I live in Lenham with my husband, our son who was born in September 2021, and our big friendly dog!

I come from a strong family unit, and now with my own young family really value the importance of creating a fun, safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive. I am fully qualified, first aid trained and DBS checked. I am proactive, kind and energetic, which has enabled me to confidently work with many families providing care for newborns, multiple sets of twins and siblings very close in age. I have an easy going sense of humour and love to laugh…a must when when working with children! I’m clean, tidy and organised; again all vital in my option! I strive to have a honest fun environment for children to feel happy when left in my care and in turn for relaxed parents!

My Experience

My 15 years experience working with young children has equipped me with the ability to apply my formal training to the daily care of children of all ages, and my wealth of knowledge and experience continues to grow. In addition to my NVQ level 3 Childcare qualification, I also have NEST level 3 at distinction level in Maternity nursing/post natal care. My skills and training have enabled me to to use the best care possible, and have also helped me endlessly after the birth of my own baby! Post natal care is so underrated but so very important to both mother and baby.

My career working with young children began in a busy nursery where I mainly cared for young children under 2. I loved the role and worked hard and quickly progressed to senior room leader position running the baby room for babies aged 6 weeks to 2 years. My role was primarily to ensure the safety and well being of all the children at all times, but also to successfully manage individual baby’s progress and routines working closely with their parents and other members of staff within my team. Whilst I loved this start to my career, I soon realised that I missed being able to maintain a relationship with the children and their families as they grew up and moved through the nursery, and started to look into being a private nanny.

I quickly found two amazing families with a nanny share arrangement providing full time sole charge nanny care for their combined 4 children aged 11 months to 5 years. I worked closely with the parents to create a seamless transition between us, and I turn the children were always happy and fulfilled. I managed the busy days of school runs, age appropriate activities or outings, home cooked meals (including managing a severe allergy) homework and bedtime routine. I had an amazing bond with not just the children but their parents and extended families too.

Since my first nanny position I have had the honour of being welcomed into many more families and have provided care for 3 separate sets of twins, families with multiple aged siblings, newborns including night nanny, sole charge overnight care and managing busy school runs.

If you’re interested in my full nanny and working history I’m happy to forward on my full CV on request.
