The most extraordinary childminder and setting

I genuinely don’t know how to put into words how highly we rate Dionne and her incredible team. Our son has been with Dionne from 9 months old until 3½, and as he now leaves to start preschool, I can honestly say finding her was one of the best things that could have happened to our family.
Dionne is quite simply one of the kindest, warmest, most nurturing and hardworking women you could ever hope to entrust your child to. She has created the most extraordinary little setting and is surrounded by an amazing team in Crystal, Reysha and Catherine, who have all loved and cared for Alfie so genuinely over the years. They have felt like an extension of our family.
If you are looking at the setting and wondering whether the fact it is based in a flat limits what the children experience, please don’t give it a second thought. I am constantly astounded by what Dionne manages to create there. The size of the space bears absolutely no relation to the size of the experience these children have. It is warm, happy, stimulating and absolutely packed with activities, learning, laughter and love plus they are out exploring the world constantly.
The children’s days are incredible. There are trips to parks, museums, libraries, farms and playgrounds, adventures further afield, endless arts and crafts, themed activities and celebrations around different cultures, festivals and important events. Dionne is endlessly imaginative and somehow keeps every day different, interesting and engaging. Our son has experienced SO much in his three years there.
And then there is the food! Dionne cooks the most amazing, varied, proper home-cooked meals for the children. The effort she puts into feeding them well is just another example of how she never does anything by halves. She goes above and beyond in absolutely everything she does.
Most importantly though, the children are loved. There is such warmth in that setting. Our son has grown from a baby into a happy, confident, funny, curious and incredibly kind little boy during his time there, and Dionne, Crystal, Reysha and Catherine have played such an important part in that. Knowing every morning that I was leaving him with women who genuinely knew him, loved him, cuddled him, encouraged him and celebrated him has been completely priceless.
Dionne has also been unbelievably flexible with our family. My partner and I have complicated and sometimes unpredictable working schedules and I genuinely don't know how we would have managed the last three years without her. She has gone above and beyond for us time and time again in a way I don't think we would ever have found elsewhere.
There is something very special about what Dionne has built. No one ever quite believes me when I tell them how amazing our childminder is or about everything the children get up to! She pours an unbelievable amount of energy, imagination and love into these children and the team she has built around her is a testament to her.
We are absolutely heartbroken to be leaving as our son starts preschool. It is incredibly emotional saying goodbye to people who have helped you raise your baby and who have been such a huge part of his earliest years.
If you are considering sending your child to Dionne, I genuinely cannot recommend her highly enough. Don't be distracted by the fact that the setting is in a flat, what is inside those four walls, and the enormous world Dionne creates for the children beyond them, is more than we could ever have hoped for.
We have all been so unbelievably lucky to have had Dionne, Crystal, Reysha and Catherine in our lives and we will be grateful to them forever. Five stars doesn't really feel enough.

Loving, vibrant, above and beyond care

We have been so lucky to have found Dionne and her team for our eldest (now at preschool) and her little sister now goes too. The vibes are excellent and our daughters have been so happy there. The team have a great balance of comfortable routine and a varied itinerary of outings to the library, playgrounds and further afield. They celebrate black history month, religious festivals, and create exciting and engaging themed activities. The food provided is wonderful and varied. 'Bare minimum' is not a concept familiar to Dionne! She consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does.
Communication is excellent - we receive written and photo documentation of the day, and Dionne is very responsive via message/ calls and chats at the start or end of the day if needed.
Our children were very well supported to settle in when they started at 9 months old. Our eldest stayed until she was 3 and it has been so bittersweet for her to grow out of Dionne's setting. We don't have family in the area but Dionne, Chrystal, Catherine and Raysha love our kids like family. We are so grateful for their efforts in helping our daughters grow up to be confident, happy little girls.

The most caring and amazing childminder!

Dionne has looked after two of our children over the past 5 years and she is the most caring and dedicated childminder.

She takes the kids out on regular trips to parks in the area, museums and even organises trips a bit further afield. Both our kids have come back home with lots of lovely arts and crafts and Dionne and her team also does a lot of great educational activities around occasions like Black History Month, Lunar New Year, Christmas, Easter, Halloween. She has also helped both our kids with potty training.

The kids loved Dionne's food too - we've had Dionne's food too and it's amazing!

She always organises a fun day out for the kid who graduate from the setting, which the kids love.

Overall our children have been well cared for and looked after. What I liked best about Dionne over the other settings I visited was how much Dionne and her team care for the children and how warm, kind and loving they are. It's like a home away from home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dionne!

The most amazing, caring childminder

Dionne has cared for our two daughters for over six years now. She really is one of a kind. We are so lucky to have her and her wonderful team in our lives. Our daughters adore going to her setting and feel so loved and cared for there. Dionne provides amazing food for the kids, so much so, our second daughter insists I try and copy her recipes. Dionne takes all the kids out on fun and educational excursions making them more confident and Independant. Dionne and her team teach the children mindfulness, yoga, numbers, writing, food preparation, teeth cleaning, as well as making them aware of other cultures and being environmentally friendly. Dionne has recently had a refurb of her setting with a view to it being more Montessori themed. Her setting is beautiful, clean and homely.

Dionne and her team always go above and beyond to make sure we’re not stuck for childcare if we get in a pickle and Chrystal is a favourite in our house to babysit. Her Christmas and graduation parties are not too be missed.

I really couldn’t recommend dionne enough. She truly is the best. Our youngest daughter will be going to nursery in September but dionne will be picking her up. You can’t get rid of us yet!! Thank you dionne and the team for caring so lovingly for our two daughters.

Fabulous Childminder!

Both of our children (one girl and one boy) have been cared for by Dionne, both started around 8/9 months and have really thrived. We love the setting and the size - it’s almost like a mini nursery but in a homely environment. Our children have made some lovely friends there and the other staff working with Dionne are also fantastic. Dionne has so much energy and is always thinking of creative activities, taking the children out on trips and helping them learn new skills. Food is great - a really good mix of things and she always hosts amazing parties for them! We feel very lucky that we found Dionne and would not hesitate in recommending her setting to anyone.

Amazing

Dionne and her team are INCREDIBLE! I’m head of an early years at a school and so have an understanding about childcare and development, but I have been blown away by the effort that Dionne puts in for her children. She has taught them, among other things…. Black history month, teeth cleaning, learning where food comes from, number recognition, lots of art activities as well as numerous trips out to parks, museums and soft play! The food she provides is amazing too- we often wish we could all come round for lunch!!
My daughter had been at Dionne’s setting since she was 9months and we are leaving now for her to start Nursery at school. I am going to so miss having Dionne in our lives. Shes a wonderful, kind, caring lady who genuinely adores all the children she looks after. She has always been there for me if I've been in a pickle and needed extra childcare.
Plus Chrystal (Dionne’s amazing assistant) and her babysitting services are so useful!!
We have LOVED being there and my whole family will miss being part of Dionne’s world!

The most caring and giving childminder

We have loved having our daughter in Dionne's care. Dionne and her team are all so brilliant and loving to the children. The range of activities they offer and the effort they put in is so impressive. We've never had to raise a single concern in our time with Dionne. We're so grateful for how happy she has made our daughter and sad that it's time for our daughter to move on.

Caring and loving childminder

Our 3 year old son has been with Dionne since April 2022 and will continue to be until he starts primary school. We also have a newborn daughter we hope will be cared for by Dionne and her team as they really are the best.

 We feel very lucky to have found her.

From the initial settling in period to now, we could not have asked for a more dedicated, caring and loving childminder for our son.

Her setting is clean, warm and really a home from home. We appreciate how much she cares about making the setting the best it can possibly be. She keeps innovating her setting and to us shows her level of dedication and passion to the kids she cares for. The cleanliness and organisation of her setting was the biggest stand out from other childminders we visited and she has maintained the high standards throughout.

We love that her team has stayed consistent throughout our time with her, which we believe has helped to build a trusting bond between us. The kids have also stayed consistent enabling our son to build secure friendships and for us to know local families. 



Our son’s confidence has improved massively since being cared for by Dionne. And this is really evident when we go out to parks at weekends and how he interacts with kids he hasn’t met before. We believe her doing daily trips and exploring the world with him has hugely helped.

We could go on and on about how amazing Dionne and her team is. Our advice don’t hang about if you want her services.

Amazing childcare

Our daughter has been with Dionne for 18months (from 1 year old to 2.5 years old) but we have just moved out of London so have had to say a sad goodbye.

I wanted to leave a review to recommend Dionne and her team to anyone looking for childcare. They are full of care, endless energy and love and our daughter was so happy on her days there.

She learned and grew so much in her time
there. She was always excited to tell us about her days at Dionne’s; I was amazed when in Black History Month she came home and told us about Rosa Parks! Dionne and the team always went above and beyond to make sure all the children had a special time and we always knew our daughter was happy and settled and that was thanks to the great care of Dionne and her team.

We feel so lucky to have found Dionne and whole heartedly recommend her to anyone.

Wonderful and loving childminder

Dionne and her two team members are absolutely incredible childminders. My twin boys have been going to Dionne's since they turned 1 and will be there until starting school this September. From the very first day Dionne, Chrystal and Ciana went to amazing efforts to make sure the boys felt loved, cared for and completely at home. Dionne and assistants are so caring about the children and communicate very well about all aspects of their time in the setting. She has helped so much for example, with potty training, additional support around speech and language and very fussy eating! She also miraculously managed to get the boys napping at the same time every day after just a couple of months of being with her which was frankly life-changing for us!

I know that Dionne and her team have done everything possible to prepare the boys for starting primary school and has expanded their knowledge and skills so much from celebrating Black History Month with incredible activities, poems and artwork to cooking and eating food from around the world (especially the Caribbean) and practising early literacy and numeracy skills.

We have utterly trusted Dionne, Ciana and Chrystal with our children and can't recommend her highly enough. Your children will be in the safest and most loving of hands with them.
