Hello, I'm Ruthie!
I am a compassionate Early Years Educator, currently working within a primary school as a reading interventalist. I am 23 years old, and have developed my career within the early years sector over a period of six years.
I am commited to working with children; having extensive experience working within private nurseries, primary schools and babysitting.
During this time, I have completed a NVQ Level 3 Early Years Educator, before being promoted deputy supervisor of the toddler room. As I am passionate about working with children, I continued my studies, completing a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Early Years. I am currently in my final year, studying a BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood; this qualification is due to end in late May, which will in turn allow me to become more flexible with my working hours.
I love singing, having a dance and all things crafty! I also enjoy being in the great outdoors.

My Experience
I have worked in early years settings for approximately six years, where I have gained experience with children aged 3 months to 11 years old.
I have experience working in nursery settings; undertaking the role of deputy supervisor of a toddler room, as well as a supervisor in the baby room. I currently work as a specialist teaching assistant, to promote a love of reading, and communication with children between the ages of four and 11 years old. I demonstrate excellent time management and lone-working, as I support over 100 children on a 1:1 basis per week.
I am able to provide character references from previous collegues, as well as from families that I have babysat for. I have worked for a range of clients, and have met the individual requirements necessary for each family and child/ren. I have experience working on super yachts, babysitting six children whilst their families attended the Southampton International Boat Show, as well as experience working with other babysitters. In addition to this, I have supported families at events such as children's birthday parties, as well as babysitting on an adhoc basis, including overnight stays.
I am able provide crafts and activities for your children, as well as intimate care and have completed training for food hygiene and dietary requirements. I can also support children with their schoolwork where necessary. I also provide light housekeeping if required.
In the event that you do choose my services, I do ask that I meet you and the child/ren before the date of the sitting, so that I can provide a settling in session. I have found this to be beneficial when meeting a new family, to gauge the child/ren's likes and dislikes, as well as learning about your routine and any other important information. I offer the settling in session free of charge, which typically lasts one to two hours.
My Qualifications
-I will have completed my BA (Hons) in Early Childhood in May 2023.
-I have a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Early Years.
-I have 9 GCSE's ranging from A* to C.
-I have completed a paediatric first aid course.
-I have completed a safeguarding course.
-I have completed a Food and Hygiene Saftey Course.
-I have completed phase 1 and 2 Makaton training.
-I have completed over 58 CPD courses in the last three years.
-I have a full clean UK driving licence and own my own car.
My Availability
I am usually quite flexible with availability and also have experience with overnight stays.
As I work in a school setting, I do have availabity most evenings and during holidays.
*Please note, I finish my academic studies for this year in May, so shall have a freer diary. After May, I shall be available during the days on Wednesday.
*I do tend to get booked up quickly, so if there are set dates in mind, please do not hesitate to discuss these with me before they become unavailable.

I can’t recommend Ruth enough, she was very personal and my children loved their time with her. She listened to all my childrens needs and did an amazing job to keep them entertained. I felt completely safe leaving my children in her care and will definitely be using her again.
