About Me
My husband Jake and I are creative professionals based in Stoke Newington. We have a 7yr old son. He is a robust and enthusiastic boy with a big laugh, who loves physical play, books, being outside, numbers, music and his food!
My Requirements
From January 2026, we are looking for a live-out nanny to pick up our 7yr-old son, every weekday, from his primary school in Stoke Newington at 3.15pm. Maybe you'll pop by a play-park, go swimming at Clissold Leisure Centre or to the library to read some new books. Then at home, you will work together on his developing phonics / numbers skills with inventive activities/games, before making supper for 5.30pm. The day ends at 6.30pm. THIS ROLE IS A 20-HOUR WEEK with extra babysitting if desired.
Our boy is sweet-natured, affectionate and just starting to communicate verbally. He is autistic and attends The Garden (a specialised school) in N16, where he is thriving. The ideal candidate would be someone with experience looking after young children with ASD. But it's also important to us to find a nanny who can support his needs and interests with enthusiasm and positivity - someone who's ready to engage with our journey as a family. We have been making big leaps with phonics, counting and his understanding of language, so strong teaching skills are a plus. As is experience using an AAC device. Our son needs a friendly nanny with confidence, humour and physicality to direct his play, keep him laughing, learning and generally keep up with him :)
Ideally, we are looking for a commitment of 1 year. Multiple strong references are essential. First Aid qualifications are a plus. Our priority is to find someone physically strong and fit who genuinely loves looking after young children, who can become a communicative, happy and effective part of our household and give our son the one-on-one time to compliment Year 3 of primary school.

Jamie has worked part-time with our family (in Hackney) for almost 2 years. He is reliable, patient, good-hearted and extremely capable. Jamie has been a huge force of positivity in our lives. He clicked with our 4yr old autistic son immediately, and has become more than a nanny to him. He is a friend and a mentor - someone who naturally supports and encourages children as they explore the world and develop their interests and skills. Jamie is a true pleasure to work with. We feel very lucky to have met him and recommend him wholeheartedly.
How lucky we were to find Bahar! We had our first child in May 2018, and Bahar started looking after him part-time from July - a role which increased to 4 days per week. Confident, warm, communicative and a joy to have around, she made our experience of parenthood relaxed and incredibly positive.
Bahar helped us to sleep train our baby from 10 weeks, which resulted in set naps and sleeping through the night by four months. (From the reports of NCT friends, I now know that she saved my sanity!) She supported us through weaning - cooking fantastic healthy purees and then meals. Bahar and our baby made a strong, special bond very quickly. He adores her. She’s always got him in fits of laughter. Her playtime activities are fun, ingenious and also cleverly judged for development. He proudly shows us new skills she’s taught him – whether it’s fitting shapes through slots or ‘reading’ his books. She takes him to music classes, group sessions, the swing park, sets play dates for him and provides an exceptionally balanced week of one-on-one care and social interaction.
Nothing fazes Bahar. Her energy is always calm, positive and playful. Children feel safe and happy in her care, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the year she’s given us and our boy. He’s starting nursery in September, and we will all miss Bahar a lot! Whoever her next family is, they’re extremely lucky.
