My name is Grace and I am 31 old.
I have many years of experience working with children of all ages in a variety of settings. I have a BA in Primary Education with QTS status. I have worked as a nanny, run the crèche at my church, am a qualified Rainbow and Brownie leader and have babysat for many years. I have a DBS check and have First aid training including paediatric first aid. I am also a member of the BAPN (British Association of Professional Nannies) and have full nanny insurance.

Since October 2020 I have been working as a nanny for a family with 3 boys (currently 10, 4 and 2yrs old). I have been taking them to and from nursery, school and after school activities. At home I have played with the children, encouraged reading and writing skills, read stories, baking, created artwork, cooked healthy meals... as well as taking them on visits to the library, local parks, music class, toddler groups, playdates and toddler swimming. I have also taken the children to doctors and opticians appointments as well as undertaking general nursery duties including potty training, bottle feeding and weaning, food shopping, laundry, clothes shopping, cleaning... I have been working full time with them including occasional babysitting and going on holidays and to family functions (i.e. a baptism) with them when needed.

For the year and a half prior to my current position I had been volunteering in Taizé, France at a monastery that welcomes thousands of young people from around the world to stay for a week. During this time I worked with all ages from young to children, teenagers and adults. This work was very varied from interacting with the youth, housekeeping, gardening, cooking, building and fixing... Due to the visitors coming from all over the world I have become very comfortable with working with people of varying levels and types of communication. I can understand basic levels of German, and a tiny amount of French and Spanish.

Prior to volunteering in France I worked in the retail sector for Next for 7+ years. When I left I was the sales manager of a large children’s wear department. Throughout working in retail I continued to run my church’s crèche, babysitting and gaining my leadership qualification through girl guiding.

With my degree being in Primary Education, I have not only an understanding of child development but also have the knowledge and ability to teach across the whole of the National curriculum. Through the school placements involved with my degree I gained experience with children across all primary school age groups, including children with special educational needs. I also spent a month in a secondary special needs school focusing on a class of 11-13yr old boys and girls with autism.

During university I was a part time nanny for a 3yr girl and a 5yr boy (who has autism) for approx. 8 months. I looked after the children throughout the day as well as occasional babysitting. I took the children to and from nursery.

I also have lots of experience working with children of all ages through babysitting as well as gaining my leadership qualification through Girlguiding , where I have been helping at a Rainbow and Brownie group(5-10yrs old) and running the creche (0-5yrs)at my church. I have doing all of these for over 10years.

I am a friendly, reliable and patient person. I am also very musical and creative, which would allow me to encourage this through activities with your children if required.

I enjoy working with children of all ages and would be happy to look after children and to take up various responsibilities. I would be happy to play with children and to do activities such as art, reading, games, outdoor activities etc. with them, as well as encourage their mental/physical development, helping with homework and take them for trips e.g.. for walks to the local park or to a museum. I am also happy to undertake any nursery/caring tasks i.e. bathing, changing and feeding. Additionally I am happy to cook healthy meals for your children.
