About Me
I love spending time with children - and am particularly fond of the Montessori style of childcare, which advocates the child as a capable, curious young mind. I have just graduated from Nottingham University with a degree in Politics. I enjoy reading, playing outdoors and getting really messy, fun trips and cycling.
My Experience
I have done tutoring work for children aged between 4 and 16, including supporting students through Year 6 SATS and Maths and English GCSE’s. I have worked as a teaching assistant in a nursery (2-4), a 3/4 (preschool) room and a reception class. I have also been a part time nanny for three different family’s, with an age range of 10 months to 8 years old. I have volunteered many hours running children’s groups, holiday clubs and after school clubs for children from birth to 12 years old. Last year I was a live-in nanny to two wonderful children aged 4 and 6, and this year I work as a 1:1 specialist learning support worker in a school for Autistic children with behavioural, emotional and sensory needs, aged between 7-14.
My Qualifications
I have 13 GCSE’s, including foreign languages, sciences and humanities, as well as A-levels in History, Psychology and Maths. I have numerous CPD certificates in child development and care, including a Level 3 award in Childcare and Education. I have also attended training in safeguarding, food hygiene, health and safety and medication administration.
