Hello, my name is Lucy Ashton. I'm 22 years old and live in the Cheam, Surrey area. I have 6 years experience working with children, ranging from working in a primary school (Early Years/KS1) during my training to working full time in day nurseries. I am an easy going, friendly person who enjoys working with young children. Childcare is a huge passion of mine and I love every minute of it. My Experience
During my training I worked in a primary school supporting class teachers and teaching assistants with the children's learning. For the last 4 and a half years I have worked full time in day nurseries, mainly with Pre-School ages 3-5 years, as a key worker for up to 14 children. My duties include; supporting the children throughout the day during learning activities, meal times, sleep times and free-flow play times, ensuring they are safe and happy. I also plan and provide engaging learning activities in line with the Early Years curriculum.
I liaise effectively with parents and carers to ensure good relationships between nursery and home. I have good behavioural management skills and also can build good relationships with children, parents and co-workers.
