About Me
I am an outdoorsy, active, young at heart type of person. I'm passionate about children having the best start in life and accompanying them through their early years. Helping them establish secure attachments which are the foundation for happy exploring, playing, developing and learning.
I have lived in Exmouth for the last 17 years and love it! I'm well organised, am flexible, have common sense and a good sense of humour. I enjoy walking, music, theatre, reading, cooking travelling and photography. I have 2 grown up daughters, the eldest is in Finland and the youngest in Germany.
My Experience
I've had over 30 years experience working with early years children in a wide variety of roles. I am well qualified and have taught in schools, nannyed both in the UK and abroad, worked as a Montessori teacher, ran my own Montessori childminding setting and set up an English is Fun language business in Germany when I lived there for a few years. The last 3 years I have worked part time at Bicton College's childrens nursey but was recently made redundant due to its closure.
My Qualifications
Early Years Teacher 2012. International Early Childhood Montessori Teacher Diploma 2010. PGCE P.E and Science 1988. BSc(Hons) Sports Science 1987.
My Availability
I'd like to work up to 3 days/week Tues/Weds and 1 other. Occasional Fri, Sat, Sun and other additional hours may also be possible. I can also offer proxy parenting if required.
