About Me
My name is Erin Gorman and I am 21 years old. I am a very happy, welcoming and bubbly person who really enjoys helping children play, learn, have fun, achieve, progress and develop! Additionally, I have a great sense of humour, I am patient and enjoy listening to children, understanding and fully meeting their needs. My greatest aim in my career is to help children progress and develop but to also ensure they are learning whilst having fun and that they do not feel under pressure. I really enjoy working one on one with children and I feel as if I do this well but I also work well as a team, always respecting everyone's needs. In addition to this, I am a punctual person and keep time management to a high standard. I am also very flexible to any changes in my day to day routine.

My Experience
In total, I have worked with children for nearly 4 1/2 years and started as soon as I left school at the age of 16 in an apprenticeship. I have become the deputy manager in both of the settings I have worked in and I have grown so much more in independence and confidence because of these opportunities. During my time in both settings, I have been hands on with all of the roles and responsibilities that were required of my job role which consisted of; nappy changes, high levels of hygiene, preparing meals, snacks, bottles etc, welcoming and greeting the children and their parents every day, going on outings with the children, monitoring sleep times, ensuring safeguarding is at the highest standard, answering the phone, organising the daily routine and so much more. I have absolutely loved my time working in both of the nurseries as I have been able to learn about each individual child, work with them one on one and in small groups whilst having fun in the most exciting and educational activities that we would plan for the children. Seeing the children smile and feel accomplished in reaching their goals allows me to feel a sense of achievement because this is exactly why I love working in childcare!
