About Me
My wife and I live in Blackheath with our children Son (9) and Daughter(5). I work in the city and have to travel with work every couple of months. My daughter is your average 5 year old girl - obsessed with unicorns and princessses, she attends school locally. My son has profound autism - whilst he is one of the sunniest and freindliest children you will ever meet, he does have significant additional needs. Specifically, he is non verbal and wears nappies still. Given this, my wife has been a homemaker for the past 5 or so year and we are looking to get a live in nanny to help share some of the load.
From a live in perspective - in the short term we can offer a room in the house, but are currently having a garden room constructed. This will have an ensuite, kitchenette and small private garden.
My Requirements
We are looking for a live in nanny to focus mostly on my sons needs. Basic duties would be:
- Collecting him from the bus, cooking him dinner, getting him to bed
- Changing his nappy
- Putting on a wash for the kids clothes and putting away
- Occasionally keeping an eye on our daughter as required
More importantly however, we are looking for someone who can be a freind and advocate for him. We are looking for someone enthusiastic who wants to spend time with him. Who will push him to try new things and experience and to go places he has not been before. To help him develop and to give him new experiences.
Alongside covering the period from approx 3-8 we'd be looking to have babysitting 1 night a week, occasional overnight cover (1-2 days) and to join us oin holiday away for 1-2 weeks a year.
We appreciate what we are looking for here goes beyond a normal nanny role and will look to reflect that in how this role is compensated.
