About Me
I am a 1st year student at Exeter university, studying Conservation Biology and Ecology with English, following completing four A-Level courses and a foundation course in acting. I love to play, focusing on child-led play, but always with a watchful eye on health and safety, and well as an educational factor. I encourage children to play outside, and if agreed by the parents, would like to take children for woodland or coastal walks, and to wildlife parks. I also try to get children involved in arts and crafts and fantasy/role-playing games. I'm able happy to help out with housework and cooking, either following meal plans/your recipes, or introducing your children to some of my favourites. I am firm about enforcing family rules, but know it is not my place to create new ones unless absolutely necessary. During my work at Drusillas Zoo I am part of the team focusing on the Sunflower Lanyard scheme, meaning I have had training on making adjustments for individual needs, such as ASD, physical disabilities and learning disabilities. My Experience
I have four years of experience with children of all ages, from new-born to pre-teen, both in a home environment, and through my work in the education department at Drusillas Zoo. I am also well-versed in the care of dogs, cats, birds and small animals, so family pets will never be an issue. I have worked as an educator for a theatre summer school for the last two years, focusing on ages 5-10
My Qualifications
I have four A-Level qualifications (English Literature, Psychology, Drama and Biology). I am DBS checked, with first-aid training (with child-centred specific sections) provided by Drusillas, and childcare training provided by a Montessori specialist
My Availability
My university course is mostly online this year, so I'm very flexible when it comes to availability. Early mornings and after school into evenings, and even overnights, work for me, and there will certainly be days in the week where I have no physical commitments during school hours, which can be worked out as and when needed.
