Hello, I'm Jemima, I'm 23 years old and I am currently working as a teaching assistant in an SEN school and I am hoping to start an English degree in September. I’ll be available during the summer holidays. I'm creative and have a passion for music and performance, as well as a love of the outdoors and nature. I love reading and cooking and bake occasionally. As a naturally curious person, I really enjoy learning new things, particularly anything to do with history. I love to share my curiosity with children as I believe that there is so much to learn from them as I can see that they are curious by nature.
I have my own car and a clean driving licence. I also have an Enhanced DBS. I have a good knowledge of local countryside and areas for play.
My Experience
I am confident and comfortable with being with small children and very familiar with the challenges and joys they bring. I have worked in the Creative Quarter in Folkestone leading story times for children, which I found to be incredibly fulfilling. In addition to that, I have also assisted a theatre designer in a children's production at the Quarter House in Folkestone. As well as my work with younger children I have also led workshops for the FHODS Youth Section at the Tower Theatre.
I consider that I have had a secure and happy upbringing with parents whose careers are involved in child health and development. My love of the countryside has come from my Dad who has worked extensively with children and young people experiencing the outdoors. I have been inspired by Mum whose had a career within child health and development and therapeutic counselling.
Working in a secondary school with boys with additional needs, I have patience and I can hold in mind the needs of the child which can be tricky at times, but this is something I find extremely rewarding.
As a child I enjoyed being in nature and now this is an anchor for me in times of pressure, it meant so much to me that I would love to share it with others.
I have been told I have a good perspective and can anticipate the needs of children. I can hold children within secure boundaries for their safety and wellbeing.
My Qualifications
I'm in the process acquiring my Paediatric First Aid certificate and I have an Enhanced DBS Check.
My Availability
I am available on evenings, weekends and school holidays. I offer reliable and flexible childcare. I'm very happy for parents to book anything from an hour upwards on an adhoc basis.

- Babysitting from £11.00 per hour
Adhoc services start at £11 an hour. After midnight £12.
