About Me
We are a happy family with 3 children: one boy aged 9, and two girls aged 7 and 5 years… plus a friendly cat. We live in a 3-bed house with a small back garden, in a very nice neighbourhood 'between the commons' in Battersea. We are a 10-to-15-minute walk from Clapham Junction station, just off Northcote Road and very close to Belleville School: SW11 6PR. We look forward to meeting you! Adrian & Stephanie
My Requirements
PAY RATE: £20 to £25 GROSS PER HOUR (depending on qualifications and experience)
AFTER SCHOOL NANNY: Live out, part-time, permanent position
START DATE: 1st October 2024
LOCATION: Battersea / Clapham Junction – SW11 6PR
TERM TIME: Monday to Friday - 3:15 pm to 7:15 pm (4 hours per day = 20 hours per week)
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: Not necessarily required. 9:00 am to 6:30 pm (9.5 hours per day = 47.5 hours per week). Lower hourly rate will apply for full days.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: A native Spanish speaker is an essential requirement (nationality does not matter). Must be proactive in teaching our children to speak, read and write in Spanish. Also needs to have 80%+ fluency in English.
THE ROLE…
Your duties will be focused on entertaining and educating our 3 gorgeous and energetic children. They are 'generally' well behaved, but they do have their 'moments' just like any other children. For the right nanny, our children will be fun, loving and extremely rewarding to work with.
Our children understand a reasonable amount of Spanish but are only able to speak a few basic words at present (e.g. greetings, numbers, colours, animals, etc.). We are looking for someone who is able to structure their language learning, providing enthusiastic and positive feedback, to help them take their Spanish skills to the next level.
We live on the same block as Belleville School, so your school pick-up journey will be a short two-minute walk. We have enrolled our children in a few after school activities, some of which require a slightly longer walk/bus trip of around 20 minutes (including swimming). We are interested in someone who will be proactive in arranging playdates with other nannies in the local area to keep our children well socialised.
Healthy eating used to be easy but has become more challenging (sigh). We will also need you to encourage our children to help tidy-up all their toys at the end of each day. You will be in charge of the children’s laundry, including washing, drying, folding and putting away. The good news is we have a cleaner who takes care of all the general household cleaning and the adult laundry. She comes three times per week and does an amazing job, which will help keep your workload down, so you can focus your time and energy on engaging with our children.

Laura worked for us for a few days as an emergency nanny for my two young girls (1 and 2.5 years old) and one young boy (5 years old). She was warm with the children and had a positive work ethic.
Laura was very friendly and enthusiastic from the outset. My children took to her immediately, so I was able to get on with my work in peace. She read books, played games, took them to the park and generally kept them entertained.
Laura was also punctual and communicated well via phone and text.
I would definitely use her again!
Lizia Taborda, we call her Lizzie, has worked as a nanny for our family, one day (11 hours) per week during 2019 and into 2020. We have been absolutely delighted with her!
Lizzie was in sole charge of our three energetic and fun-loving children, aged approximately 5, 2.5 and 1 years old. This is probably about as challenging a set of ages to deal with as is possible, but she took it all in her stride. She quickly developed a rapport with all our children and our little girls in particular absolutely adore her!
I’m always slightly nervous on the first day with a new nanny. What are they going to be like in reality? Are my kids going to like them and respect them? I remember on Lizzie’s first day that my eldest son was resisting my requests to go upstairs to get dressed for school, then he started whining and I was worried what was going to happen next. Lizzie simply walked over with a confident smile and said in a playful voice “Who’s going to win going upstairs?”… and he was off like a shot! Potential meltdown averted! After that, I knew that she was going to be just fine 😊
We hired Lizzie because she demonstrated an excellent mix of friendliness and intelligence during interview. We were certainly not disappointed! She spoke to our children in a kind manner and with an enthusiastic tone that inspired them to play well together (well, most of the time), whilst also being authoritative enough to maintain control. I felt that her style is similar to the abilities that I would hope to see in a qualified school teacher.
Lizzie stood-out from the crowd of other nannies because of her academic background, including her degree in psychology. We asked her to apply her knowledge (from her studies) and experience (from her time working in a nursery) to work on a specific behavioural issue with our oldest child. She was open in discussing the matter with us and provided constructive advice so that we were all working on the same page. She was also able to give us some reassurance that, although potentially disconcerting, the behaviour was relatively common and with the consistent application of some simple techniques, could be easily managed as a part of our child’s normal development.
I am delighted to provide this reference for Lizzie. We hope that we will continue to be able to make use of her services as a babysitter for years to come. Feel free to contact me if you would like to speak about her in more detail.
