About Me

We have two boys, one who is almost 3 and the other recently turned 5. Our older boy is in reception and our younger boy attends a Montessori nursery 3 days a week, Monday to Wednesday.

We are looking for some help to supplement our current childcare arrangements as, without family support around, we find there are sometimes times when there is a work or a job to do, appointments to attend, or we just need a break or time as a couple.

Ideally this would be a relatively flexible arrangement and would suit someone with that flexibility in their life. We would be looking to spread a number of hours (eg 5-9) across a Thursday and Friday, and occasional weekends eg 4 hours on a Saturday, as well as occasional evening babysitting. Even better if someone had the potential to do any additional hours eg in half terms/school holidays or if the boys are off school or nursery and we are working.

We are looking for someone regular that the boys can build a relationship with as our younger son in particular finds it very difficult to separate from me and he needs someone he knows well, which is why an ad hoc babysitting service doesn't really work for us.

With two small boys with loads of energy to burn, we are looking for someone active with lots of energy who will keep them busy and stimulated, someone who shows initiative eg encouraging them to tidy up after themselves, and can build a connection with even an unsure child. They need to get outside lots, love riding their bikes (and they are fast!) and love mud, puddles and splashing; our big boy also loves to do arts and crafts and focus on a task, and the little one loves to keep moving, music and dance. They are both good eaters and the little one is already toilet trained.
