About Me

We have two young children: Eliza is 2.5 years and Sebastian 15months. We are a farming family and live in a rural location so the children are used to plenty of fresh air and exercise! Eliza is a bright and bubbly character but quite shy - it takes her a while to warm to new people. She is very talkative but also loves reading, painting and playing independently, as well as getting outdoors. She attends a forest school nursery two mornings a week and really enjoys this. We still have the occasional wobble at drop-off but it has done wonders for her confidence and independence and she is always so excited and full of what she’s been up to with her friends when I collect her. Sebastian (Sebby) is quite full on and not often good at independent play. He is not yet walking but pretty close - and desperate to manage it. He loves animals and vehicles and wants to be outside as much as possible. When given lots of attention, he is great fun and will really get stuck into things. He adores climbing and could spend hours at the park! However he needs a lot of input, which can be tiring. I think this is partly due to the fact that he was extremely colicky as a baby and so spent most of his early months cuddled up in a sling to keep him comfortable. As a result, he is now very demanding/attention-seeking! (Luckily, he has a heart-melting smile to make up for it!) The two of them really love each other and, aside from some usual bickering over who plays with which toy first, they really enjoy each other’s company. I love being able to be at home with them full time (I am on an extended career break for another year from my job as a secondary school assistant head/English teacher) but we have found having a second baby more challenging than we expected and would really appreciate a little extra help/break as well as giving the children a chance to bond with another, non-family adult.

We are looking for some help at the weekend, either a day or an afternoon every week (preferably a Saturday) with the potential for additional hours on a less regular basis (e. g. Occasional extra day/evening). This is mostly because we want to be able to organise to do things sometimes, without always having to rely on the goodwill of grandparents and also because my husband is often busy and/or working at the weekend.
