About Me
Hi! I'm Rachel from Mini Childcare. I have two children of my own, a 9 year old boy and an 8 year old girl.
Since having my first child, I've loved watching him grow and develop. After having my second, I decided that teaching at secondary school wasn't working for me. I made the decision to leave my job and train as a childminder (mini childcare).
I love taking children out for trips to the park, nature reserves, beach, zoo, library, play groups, martin mere, museum, walk around the docks, through the woods, on any adventure. I love to see them learn and enjoy new experiences.
My Experience
I was a food technology teacher for 10 years, so I have plenty of experience of nutrition, food preparation, food hygiene, and helping different children learn. I have experience of allergies, and live in a peanut free house (we have a severe peanut allergy in our family). With my experience, I cook healthy meals and snacks with the children in line with the updated EYFS nutritional guidance set out by the UK government in September 2025.
My Qualifications
I completed the pre-registration training with Lancashire County Council.
I have up to date paediatric first aid, food hygiene, and safeguarding training. Also, I regularly attend webinars to extend my knowledge.
My Availability
(October 2025) I currently have space available immediately due to child moving on to preschool.
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
Daily rate: £50 between 7am and 5pm.
