Hello!! My name is Alison - I'm a French/American who has happily settled down in Birkenhead and loves teaching children on the Wirral! I have a fun, positive, outgoing personality (Theatre major) and love spending time with children of all ages!
My Experience
I am a USA/French citizen who has worked in education/nanny/childcare for the past 25 years. In the US/UK I was a secondary school teacher, university professor, camp summer camp counselor, as well as nannying in the UK. Currently, I am a P&A Coach at a local high school/college. I have extensive experience working with SEN students, and love supporting unique children. I have full DBS status and have been supply teaching in the Wirral for the past two years. I have worked with children ages 0-18. I've been working at St Mary's Catholic College in Wallasey for the past three years and am currently the Deputy Head of Year 7.
My Qualifications
I have a US teaching license from the state of Massachusetts (taught middle school English and History for three years) and my CELTA. I'm currently working as a P&A Coach/pastoral lead at a local high school . I have been a CPR/First Aid instructor in the past and was last qualified for First Aid in 2021. I've also been a swimming instructor with the YMCA, a tutor of all subjects (French fluency), currently a tennis instructor, and enjoy supporting children in any of their interests!
My Availability
During the school term time, I am mainly available after school (after 4pm) a few days a week until late evening and fully available on weekends. I work in Wallasey & would need to sort out after school times based on public transport to your home. I live in Hamilton Square and fully available on weekends and during the school holiday breaks.
