About Me
Hi, I am Melissa and I am a mum to two little girls who are 5 and 2 years old. I live in West Devon, in the small village of Lifton where I enjoy gardening and getting out and about with my family. I have two dogs called Luna, who is a 6 year old springer spaniel, and Jackson, who is a 4 year old beagle.
My Experience
I qualified with an A grade in CACHE Level 3 Childcare & Education in 2015. From 2015 - 2017 I worked in a setting which supported adults with learning disabilities and this is where I gained lots of knowledge about SEN and disabilities. I had my eldest daughter in 2017 and then went on to have my youngest daughter in 2021 during the Covid pandemic. In 2022 I went back to work full time as a family worker for Cornwall local authority where I gained a lot of experience working closely with children, families and social care.
I am currently registering to be a childminder through a childminding agency and hope to be up and running by December 2023.
My Qualifications
CACHE Level 3 in Childcare and Education, including EYFS.
Level 3 Safeguarding Children.
Paediatric First Aid.
Incredible Years facilitator training.
Trauma recovery model training.
My Availability
For children aged 9 months - 5 years I have availability from 8am til 6pm Mon - Fri.
For children 5 upwards who attend Lifton Primary School I offer school drop off with breakfast included from 8am and pick ups with after school childcare until 6pm.
Please note that I am currently only open during school time and will be closed for school holidays and half terms.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.10 per hour
My fees are £6.10 an hour for children aged 9 months to the first September after their 5th birthday (year 1 age). For children aged 5 and above who are attending before school, my fees are £2.50 which includes breakfast. For children aged 5 and over attending after school my fee is £7.50 per child for the entire session. If you would like your child to be provided with an evening meal at 5pm then there is an additional £1.50 charge.
