About Me

My name is Tabitha, and I am a friendly, funny caring character who is confident and happy. I am 23 years old and come from a big family and so I’m very family orientated. I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends and love to be out and about! I like cooking and baking and like to learn and create new recipes! I have two nieces, one who is 3 years old and another who is 1 years old who I love to care for.

I have worked in childcare for 7 years, and have got experience with children from the age of new borns to 11 years old. I started working as agency cover where I would be sent to different nursery’s and/or before and after school clubs. I then left 3 years later to start an apprenticeship in a nursery where I gained my level 3 childcare/early years educator qualification. Six months after qualifying (in 2021) I then became a nursery room manager where I was in charge and ran the toddler room (2-3 year olds) in my setting.

In September 2023 I left my nursery to begin a career in nannying. I currently work for a nanny childcare cover agency on a Monday through to Wednesday.
On a Thursday and Friday I am sole charge nanny to a 4 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. I would like to find a permanent family to nanny for on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

I am also a qualified beauty therapist and I carry out treatments such as manicures and massages on friends and family.

I have chosen to become a nanny because I want to be able to progress further in my career and to help children learn, grow and thrive on a 1 to 1 basis. I want to build a strong professional relationship with both the children and their families.
I have full knowledge of the EYFS and have the skills that enable me to understand the development and learning needs that children require.

My Experience

I am fully qualified in childcare and hold a distinction on a level 3, a DBS check and a first aid certificate along with a designated safeguarding lead certificate. I worked in a nursery for 3 years and I was the toddler room manager/leader. I have now also gained experience in a nanny role where I cover for families with an agency on Monday to Wednesdays and am a sole charge nanny to two children in a Thursday and Friday.

As a nanny I go on outings to different play groups and activity centres, such as soft play and farms. I have set up and created activities within the household such as play dough with number and shape cutters to encourage skills such as English and Maths. Where I have previously worked in a nursery I had to set up lots of activities throughout the day that would cover all the 7 areas of learning that are set out in the EYFS, therefore with the resources I have many ideas for different activities!
I have prepared and made meals for children and this includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I make sure I keep a household tidy and do any cleaning up after preparing meals or doing jobs such as the laundry for example. I have carried out bed time routines and will follow a parent’s routine so there is consistency for the child. On over night stays I have done jobs such as bottle feeds and have soothed a crying baby.

More previous experience:

I worked for a nursery and preschool agency for 3 years starting in the year 2018. I do babysitting for different families on the weekend and have been doing this since I was 16 years old. When I was in year 10 at secondary school I did my work experience as a teachers assistant working in a primary school and I also volunteered at a local brownie group for 2 years.

From working in a nursery I have the skills to set up fun and engaging actives that children can learn and develop from. I am able to create a diary where you can be informed of what your child has been up to and keep you updated throughout your child’s day. I also hold an A grade in GCSE catering and am able to make and provide healthy meals. I am also aware of local play groups, parks and activity centres where children are able to have fun, learn and thrive.

I am a tidy organised person and am happy to help with household jobs that may be required. I love a clean setting and am used to cleaning up after the children in my job. My beautician skills have made me a perfectionist and I’m always keeping things tidy and organised at home too!
