About Me

Hi, I’m Jude and I’m 24 and live in Herne bay. I have 7 years of experience working in childcare and education provisions. I am currently working at a local primary school as a learning support assistant, and am about to start my third academic year working in year 6 ?

I have been nannying since 2021, having worked with two families 3/4 evenings a week. During my time nannying, I have enjoyed working close with families and building a bond with children. During these times I allow for sessions to be child led, allowing for a wide range of arts and crafts, baking and cooking, outdoor activities, walks, and free play.

I also offer private tutoring for children in primary, up to the age of 11/12 years old, in all primary subjects, and can provide learning resources for sessions.

My Experience

I have recently graduated from Canterbury Christ Church, with a 2:1 in Special Educational Degree and Inclusion Practice. I am now looking at completing my PCGE QTS teaching degree in the next few years to become a primary school teacher.

when I was completing my Early Years educator Level Three I had to complete over 800 hours of placement experience that ranged from different nursery's and pre-schools from the ages of 2months to 5 years old.

once leaving college and starting university in 2018 I worked as a Afterschool Deputy Manager at Whitstable Junior school for Kindergarten Kids. The role involved;
- Ensuring children are getting breakfast before school and a snack after school,
- Help with homework,
- Planning activities that will engage with the children,
- Having professional relationships with teachers, parents/careers and other professional,
- Working with children with additional needs.

Moving on from this, I had the Opportunity to work in Greece for a company called Mark Warner as Nanny. Mark warner offer childcare facilities for families that ensure children can get involved with all sorts of activities from water sports, team games and swim lessons.
- Being up to date with relevant policies and procedures,
- Having a balance of a personal and professional relationships around the hotel and with key groups,
- Working as a special need one to one which included down syndrome, diabetes management and behavioural,
- Ensuring daily tasks are completed to the highest standard,
- Plan activities to promote development and opportunities to play and explore in safe, controlled environments,
- Keeping up with training such as health and safety, water sports and safety,
- During my time at Mark Warner I worked as one of the top Nannies within the Mini (3-5 years) toddlers and babies.

I have also spend time as a support worker for SNAAP in Herne Bay. I had only completed a few shifts before the Coronavirus Lockdown that unfortunately halted any experience I could have gained from this job. However, I am due to start work in this position again on the 23rd of July. This position is not regular work and is mainly during the half term and am looking for another part time position alongside this role.
- Help provide approiate activities to disabled young people aged 11-25 years old.
- One to one for children who acquire additional support.
- Assist or attend to children and young people to meet their daily individual needs such as supporting challenging behaviour, personal care and interests.
- To run engaging activities that is inclusive to all children that also meets their interests.
- Work closely with children and their families.

I have also spent time working in a local nursery as a full time practitioner and SEN assistant, room leader of the toddler room. This was a full time position working with a small team, helping to provide care to children ages 6months to five years.

From now, I am a full term learning support assistant at a local primary school in year five, helping with set maths and literature and other subjects within the national curriculum.
