My Summary
Private Tutor / Life Coach
About Me
Hello! I’m a private tutor with a calm, patient, and creative approach. I offer a unique mix of academic tutoring, emotional support and practical life skills, all tailored to your child’s needs. Since 2020, I’ve supported children aged 4 to 17, including those in primary school, home-schooled children, and those with additional needs.
My sessions are fun, purposeful, and nurturing. I don’t just teach, I build confidence. Whether we’re preparing for SATs, tackling tricky spellings or learning to type, I always bring warmth and a big box of resources. I also support after-school routines, sometimes picking up children, giving them a snack and easing them into a gentle, structured learning session.
I offer:
• Primary tutoring (Reception to Year 6)
• SATs prep and phonics support
• SEN tutoring (ADHD, autism, speech & language difficulties)
• Home-school support and creative learning sessions
• Basic IT and life skills for children and teens
• After-school tutoring with pickup and care
I believe learning should feel like something they want to do, not just something they have to do. If that sounds like the support you’re looking for, I’d love to chat.
My Experience
I’ve worked with children and young people for over 19 years, across schools, home environments and community settings. My roles have included:
• SEN Teaching Assistant
• Resources Manager in education
• IT support and private tutor
• Summer scheme playleader
• One-to-one and small group tutoring in English, maths and IT
• Childminding-style wraparound care with structured learning
Since 2020, I’ve been a private tutor working with:
• Home-schooled students
• Children with special educational needs (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech & language delays)
• Primary school children preparing for SATs
• Teenagers needing support with technology or emotional confidence
• Families needing after-school help and learning combined
I’m also a mum of two and know how important it is to find someone who’s both dependable and down-to-earth.
My Qualifications

Sam tutored our daughter in Maths ahead of her Year 6 SATS. Sam was calm, patient and provided plenty of resources and tools to help our daughter have a better understanding specifically in times tables, fractions, time and many other areas. Sam was very encouraging and helped to reassure our daughter which gave her confidence in approaching Maths on a day to day basis at school as well as in the SATS papers. We were really pleased with our daughter passing her SATS and believe this was significantly improved with the help of Sam's tutoring.

Sam is a creative, proactive, caring, patient tutor with oodles of experience which shows in the thoughtful lesson planning using a variety of materials to hold a neuro diverse child's attention! I only wish I had found Sam earlier.

Sam has been helping us all out for the last 5 months after school twice a week. She is reliable and conscientious. Our children are going into year 3 and 5 and their confidence at school, especially in maths, has really increased. The children learn through playing games and are pushed intellectually in ways they wouldn’t normally be. They enjoy spending time with Sam and it challenges them. Sam supplies all of her own learning materials and the children are proud to show us what they have achieved. On some days when they are tired or needing a break she will do craft work or baking instead.
I highly recommend Sam to anyone looking for a private tutor.

Sam gives extra tuition to my two children (7 & 9) 3 times a week after school. She is also very well planned , a true professional and the kids always find her sessions fun but also hard work. I have to admit my two were not lovers of school but we've really seen a positive shift in there attitude to learning. Sam quickly assessed the children and is not only helping to fill there knowledge gaps but giving me ideas of things to do with them. She really has been a very positive help and I would highly recommend her...
Thanks
